Hello Everyone,

I almosted missed the letter notifying my wife of her biometrics appointment.

I've been checking the USCIS website everyday for case status updates, and checking my email. But apparently, they don't notify you of your biometrics appointment either online or by email.

I hadn't checked my mailbox for a day, so I checked this morning, and there was the letter notifying her of her biometrics appointment tomorrow, Nov. 4th at 12noon. It's only about a 5 minute drive from my home.

It's a good thing I didn't skip checking my mail today, or we would have missed the appointment altogether.

12-22-05 I-129F mailed to CSC

12-27-05 USCIS receives I-129f

01-03-06 NOA1 by mail

03-14-06 NOA2 Case Approved

03-21-06 NVC sent case to BKK

03-27-06 BKK Embassy email "no record of my case"

03-27-06 NVC approval letter rcvd

03-30-06 BKK Embassy confirms case by email

03-31-06 Fiancee Medical passed

Ya they don't notify you other than a letter in the mail regarding your biometrics appointment ... Guess you better start checking the mail daily now :)

The email update is not always fast enough, take Vancouver's advice and check your mailbox everyday, I know I did, and it certainly paid off!

My story:

09/23/2002 - Met Chris online, there was something very special about this guy =0)

07/16/2006 - We got married in Reno, Nevada.

USCIS:

08/13/2006 - Filed for AOS, AP, EAD - they were VERY carefully packaged with a detailed cover sheet on top of each of the forms, just as VJ's instructions recommend. It was A LOT of work, but it did pay off! (we firmly believe this is what sped up our process big time)

08/31/2006 - Biometrics appointment

09/09/2006 - Received my AOS appointment date!

10/26/2006 - EAD touched and AP APPROVED!

10/27/2006 - AOS appointment at 7:30 AM! APPROVED IN EXACTLY 70 DAYS!!!

11/01/2006 - EAD approved

11/02/2006 - Email notification - greencard will be mailed as soon as it is ready! YAY again!

11/02/2006 - Welcome to the United States of America letter in the mail! Almost there! =)

11/06/2006 - EAD card and White card (a.k.a. greencard) arrive in the mail!

Journey Total Duration: 80 days

Filed for removal of conditions on 07-28-2008 and had them removed on 09-10-2008

I can never understand why people don't check their mail on a daily basis.... it not as if its a big job to do...

It is if you are like me and don't have mail delivery at your house...

We try to check the PO box every day though, just as a general principle. It's a whole lot easier now that there are 2 of us.

I brought my biometrics appointment letter and my Canadian passport ... Make sure you bring your marriage certificate as I have read other VJ members having to supply that if they did a name change ... I think that is it ....

Also make sure here fingers are free of cuts and nicks ... they won't take the biometrics if they feel they can't get a good print ...

I remember you from the K1 Sawasdee forum.

Just bring your wife's appointment letter, passport, and marriage certificate.

I got there about 20 minutes early and it only took about 30 minutes total.

Quick and painless.
