No tax return for last few years

sorry if this is off topic (maybe someone can redirect me?) but I have a similar question..

my last tax return was filed for the 08 year, I didn't file in 09, 10, or 11 because I held no job in Norway (or America obviously) and was not earning any income. I called the IRS for the 09 year and told them I didn't know what to do and they told me don't bother filing so I continued that way for the next few years. I will be filing in 2013 for the 2012 year because I just got a job here. Will having 2008 and 2012 be enough? I can't order 2007 or earlier returns.

Thanks for any help!

You only need three years tax returns, so you will be fine.

On the I-864 or 864EZ, provide the requested tax return information for 2012, then hand write in the space below, "Not required to file. No income."

The OP doesn't have three tax returns. See my answer for the solution.
