I am of the opinion that each time Alla crosses into Canada, she has the attention of ALL of the Border Patrol workers, and the Roma just sneak past, no one watching THEM.

You make the mistake of thinking we care if they like us. We don't. Dropping cash and going back is fine by us, in fact it is the pro-forma of many businesses here.

I didn't offer an opinion on whether you care or not. It doesn't matter to me if you like them or they like you. I'm merely trying to come up with a reason that Quebecers would tip normally wherever else they go but not in Vermont.
