What should I do if my Green Card and Passport have different names?

I changed my name after I got married. The name on the green card will not match the name on my passport. I think it may be a problem if I travel internationally. What should I do in situations like this?

Correct me if I am wrong but is your passport in your maiden name, and the green card is in your married name? If so, then book the flight that matches your name on the passport and carry a copy of your marriage certificate along with your green card when you return to the US.

so easy,book a ticket and use your name showing on the passport,keep your green card with you.if need it when you enter the USA.you already have a record with the US.

Thanks guys! I guess I'll make sure to bring my marriage license with me when I travel, just in case.

correct, the name on the passport, MUST match the name on the airline tickets.you should bring along with you your marriage certificate for back up, returning home to the poe you show your green card . go on the us citizens line.you will be fine have a safe trip.

1. when booking tickets, book in passport name.

2. for re-entry into USA, carry green card and certified copy of marriage certificate.
