A final word:

Tell that to the multitude of women in Saudi-Arabia who yearn and long for the simple freedom to lead a normal life and are prevented from it.

And to you - good luck in your cage. You apparently threw the key away a long time ago. So, enjoy.

Why do you have to turn this personal against me? Why can't you have your own opinion and I have mine without resorting to childishness?

First pluck out each pubic hair individually, smash their knackers with a claw hammer and THEN cut them off....

Much better.....

How about this: Nail their package to a tree stump and give them a rusty knife in which to free themselves?

I mean.... I try so hard to respect EVERY religion and tradition.... I try so hard!

But come on... how can I even try to remain fair and open minded in a situation like this? It's sick.....

It is against the law in the kingdom to be alone with an unrelated male.... the punishment is as stated.

How can you ask for one crime to be punished while asking another to be ignored?

Maybe in this case because of the trauma she and her male friend already went through they could waive the punishment and from what I've read in the other article their families (as well as her fiance) are appealing their punishment. Maybe they will overturn it.

She was obviously aware that she was breaking the law because she lied to the authorities about being with the man at first.

Sigh...sometimes I get so sick. Of course, I did choose to read this so I shouldn't complain. But come on...I have to agree with someone's post. Is SEX all these people think about? Do they ALL think women are up to no good if they are with a male not related to them?

Waive the punishment....I just don't get it. Breaking the law....I don't get that one either. What kind of law is this...how can a law like this be justifiable? Thank god and greyhound I am not subject to this kind of life. Yes, I am very opinionated today. I just can't fathom this kind of thing. Seems like anytime I read anything about "the kingdom" its about an injustice of this nature. Just doesn't make sense to me. Not sure I want to understand it either.

Of course, this IS just my opinion you know.

I just want to point out that there are TONS of rapists in our very own country who do not end up being punished for various reasons, or are sentenced to very light prison terms. Rape is a hard crime to prove (although it is easier with DNA) - and I think the problem of rapist going unpunished/lightly punished is certainly not limited to Saudia Arabia.

As for the lashing of the woman...All I can say is that there has to be some medium between the exploitation of woman that goes on in this country and harsh punishments that go on over there.
