I have to agree with this. I'm active duty and I doubt I'd get anything differently than anyone else.

well actually when i was active duty i had friend get married and there was something about the case getting expedited and the foreign spouse automatically got citizenship or something like that but I am pretty sure there is a little plus when you are still active duty...I have been out since 2005

My hubby is active duty as well. The only thing his military service helped us with is getting an expedite request approved. He was due to leave for deployment before I would have gotten my visa approved.

Only preference is for active duty military and in war zones - it's often expedited. Another advantage for active duty petitioners is that they only have to show 100% of poverty line, all others follow 125% rule.

As a veteran, no you do not get any immigration benefits. I wish, my husband was USAF. You still have to show and prove that you two have an ongoing genuine relationship. I wish him luck next month in his interview!

thanks....I don't really mean extra benefits just that they see I am a veteran and it helps them to think more positively I am not worried about evidence we have a child our families have met pictures letters skype pics and conversations etc...just was wondering if it would help on a positive note thanks

If you have enough proof then your case is solid regardless of you being a vet, just please be aware, APs are a must for middle eastern men and women.

well yes they are very common but not everyone in the middle east gets AP although most do but not all...so I am praying we get to be one that doesn't

Best of luck. Have you been over to the regional forums to see what is currently normal for his consulate? That may help, too. There are certain things that are consulate specific.
