Hello everyone,

This is my second attempt at petitioning for a K-1 Visa. Last year I petitioned and received a K-1 Visa without any problems.

Now i'm currently waiting for a second K-1 to be approved with a NOA1 date of June 12, 2012. Hopefully anyday now for the NOA2

I am curious if anyone else has gone thru the K-1 process more than once and if they had any problems obtaining a second K-1 Visa.

Thanks and I wish everyone the best of luck in their own visa journey or journeys.

Who are you? The USC petitioner? USCs don't receive K-1 Visas, the foreign beneficiary does.

Is it for the same foreigner or a new one? What happened to the first beneficiary?

Did you include a waiver letter since you were approved for the first when you filed for the second?

OK, just read your profile I this is for the same woman and she came to the US but left before you became married and obviously before she AOSed.

She'll be asked some questions at the interview but I don't believe there should be any major issues....except.....if you two know the requirements and are prepared to go through with that now. I'd suggest you attend her interview.

Thanks for the reply

Yes I am the USC and the beneficiary hasn't changed. We had no issues the first time around and nothing has changed since then.

I do have another question though.

I just received an email and text stating that my alien registration number has changed relating to the I129F petition I filed.

Now Im assuming this means it was changed from EAC number to KEV number because it was approved.

Does anyone know if this is the case or is my assumption wrong?

Thanks

The USC doesn't get an alien reg number; the beneficiary does; I'd suggest using the correct designations in the future to avoid confusion. My understanding is the Alien number always stays the same; the case number can change as it moves through the process. Maybe you're confusing the two?

Move your questions to the RUB regional forum where folks who have gone through Kiev hang out; here on the General forum you'll get others who may comment but based on their experience.....many Embassies do things differently.

Before today the uscis website said:

We received your petition on June 12, 2012.

Now it has been changed to this:

On December 5, 2012, your Alien Registration Number was changed relating to your I129F, PETITION FOR FIANCE(E). Please check our website at uscis for further updates on your case. Please wait until the end of normal processing time before calling customer service at 1-800-375-5283 for live assistance.

I don't rmember seeing this last time, I only saw it after it was approved

So I'm just wondering if this is a normal statement for approval or if it could've been changed for another reason?

I remember on the previous K-1 after approval i got a KEV number that replaced my EAC number.

Thanks

There was never a green card issued to the previous visa. The alien registration numbers are assigned by USCIS before petition approval, if a green card is never issued and the case is abandoned, then the number is cancelled. So they have issued your fiancee a new "A" number. You will probably get an approval before too long

There should be no issues with a second visa, particularly not for the same beneficiary.

The KEV and the EAC numbers are numbers used for internal tracking of the case. The "A" number is used to identify your fiancee/wife for as long as she is an LPR. It is cancelled and turned in when she becomes a citizen

Your post makes sense. I wasn't thinking about her having a number from the previous visa.

You are right, it was abandoned and a new visa was started within a month of the old one expiring.

I talked with my attorney last night and he told me to considerate an approval if a new number was issued.

Thanks and best of luck to everyone.
