I really don't know what to do right now... I kinda want ta help my older bro in any form so he can be with his wife for this Christmas... Pls help me:

Here's the story. My older brother's wife has already done her interview in the us embassy in the Philippines. She also turned in all papers needed to give. Now we are awaiting for the arrival of her visa, which was said to take about 2-3 weeks, with the addition of checking with the NBI during that time slot to see if she has any more pending cases (she kinda had a minor misdemeanor which was already resolved). The thing is, it has been almost 2 months wait, with her last interview during nov 15. My older bro tried calling the embassy, in which they responded that there hasn't been any message from the NBI regarding anymore pending cases. My sis-in-law tried to find someone who works for the NBI locally help us, but the embassy told them not to do it.

So, what are we supposed to do now?

Unfortunately, I don't think there is much anyone can do but wait.

they are at the mercy of NBI. Any attempts to get help from someone there could be considered and viewed as bribe in the eyes of the US Govt. It is best to wait for them to respond, or risk denial

Wow... I guess we really can't do anything. I assume that responding to the us embassy and checking for any more pending cases wouldn't take that much time. I wasn't strict with the NBI when it was pass 4 weeks, since I know it's a busy time back in the Philippines with all-saints weekends and the upcoming holidays. But still it makes me wonder if they do these request on a specific date, or they are just ignoring it.

Btw, thanks for your replies bt1 and dirk XD!
