OK. I did call last week but it was a tier 1 rep who just read out loud the info I get from the web site. Should I call again and just right away ask to speak to a tier 2 person? Do I need to provide a reason? I just don't want to sound rude, like I'm going above the tier 1 person or something.

Thanks!

You should talk to Tier 2 and you do not need a reason to talk to Tier2. You can simply say that you suspect your case may have been transferred and you would like to confirm.

Anyways, what your local office?

My NOA1 date is Dec. 21st .... we were at NBC. About 10 days ago I got the notice for a standard interview at our local office. I will go without my husband (since he is in England) but with my lawyer. Nervous and hopeful at the same time. Good luck to everyone who hasnt heard anything yet for their own case.

Congratulations on that interview and good luck. People usually get approved right after interview, usually same day.

We began at NBC, but I am not sure exactly when in the process we got sent to our local office.

Thanks for the good wishes. I am hoping that the interview goes smoothly. I have heard that many people get their approval soon after the interview - hoping the same holds for us.

Is it because USCIS customer service reps are soooo nice and polite to us all? So God forbid being rude with them

Actually both times I have called, they have been very polite with me.

Anyway, here is my update, if it helps anyone...

I did call again yesterday and asked to talk to a Tier 2 representative to find out if my file is still at NBC or elsewhere, and the lady told me that I would have gotten a letter if it had been transferred. A couple of hours later, I got the text and email that my application had been approved on Mar. 29! Obviously my calling yesterday had nothing to do with that. I did call once last week as previously mentioned, but I personally don't think that had anything to do with it either. The last time my file was touched was Mar. 20, when they updated my address since I moved.

I hope everyone else's gets approved soon too! There is definitely hope!

Good luck at the interview!

They do not update online or notify by mail, so its very hard to tell. Just read other post that someone went for infopass and found out that there was an RFE sent out on DEC 19. Petitioner had no idea, so I suggest people keep track on their cases as USCIS does not notify or update online. There is no harm in visiting your Local office.

Guys,

I need some input. My NOA1 date is 19th December, I am a canadian resident but an Indian citizen. My wife is my petitioner.

Any idea, what could be the reason of not seeing an NOA2 yet. I mean most of the December filers (as per Visajourney) have got their NOA2.

My wife did call USCIS twice, once she was transferred to the Tier2 and once not. When she was transferred to Tier 2 support, they said that the file is at the Local office (Newark, NJ). That is the only information we have as of yet.

Also, since I am a Canadian Resident and will be here in Canada, does my NVC stage process in Canada or India. How long would that process normally take ?

Thanks in appreciation!

Remember what you see on here is just a small sample. Has your wife called to see where your file is? Are you at her local office? What is the local office? Have you checked to see how busy the Local office is? You need to find these things out. Some local offices have just started processing Aug and Sept files.

The number of filers here on VJ is just a fraction of the actual number of petitions. The approval rate you see here is deceiving.

In reality, less than 50% of the actual number of all I-130s filled in mid-Decemeber, which is about 10,000 a week, are approved by now.

You can find processing trends for your local office here

http://dashboard.uscis.gov/index.cfm?formtype=4&office=19&charttype=1

I think that NVC processing goes by place of residency, not citizenship, but don't quote me on this.

Best of luck to you!
