HI everyone, is it possible to pay for the visa fee in USD or does it have to be in the specific country's currency? My fiance is in Taiwan and I'm wondering if there is an option to either pay using US Dollars or specifically with NT$?

We got our NOA2 and now are planning for the next steps. This site has been a great source of information and advice!

Sorry this took so long...I just found this on AIT's website... http://www.ait.org.tw/en/immigrant-interview-procedures.html

Step 2: Application fee. After you are called to the window, you will first be asked to go to the third floor cashier and pay an application fee for each visa application that has not been prepaid at NVC in the United States. The new schedule became effective April 13, 2012. You may pay in U.S. dollars, NT dollars or credit card. Checks are not accepted.

Good luck!

Consider updating the site's Embassy info page for the Taiwan interviewing embassy/consulate with your information for future users.

Good luck on your visa journey.

I saw that info on AIT's website too after searching, I was wondering if any members could give real life experiences on this! I will make sure to update the entire process after we've gone through it, so that future Taiwan members interviewing at AIT will have more information on hand.

Just a quick update for future members going through AIT, my fiance received packet 3 and he was given an account number and instructed to go to the Post office and pay for the visa fee in NT$ and bring the receipt to interview. He has to complete several forms and send them back to AIT before they will send out packet 4 with the interview date.

I was also confused about whether they wanted the I-134 or I-864, and he says that they included I-134 in the package, so that answered my question. I had sent him: W-2's, paycheck stubs, and employment letter, but I will send him a copy of last year's tax return in case they ask for it at the interview.

We are starting to get very anxious now, but hope that he can get an interview date before Lunar New Year 2013, because it's a long holiday and it would be very nice to have good news to begin the new year!!! Wish us luck!
