So, my I-130 was one of the last ones accepted at VSC before they started shipping them out to local offices. We're just past the four month mark now, and Vermont is still only working on applications from early May - at this rate we're looking at 7 months for NOA2, and that's if they don't slow down even more over the holidays. VSC is still reporting a 5 month processing time but this is obviously false. What's the next step once we hit that 5 month mark? File a service request (which I understand they generally just tell you to wait three more months) and then contact a congressperson? Go straight to the congressperson? It's so frustrating to have missed their diversion date by so little and see people who submitted a month or more after us approved already, but I'm sure even more frustrating for those people who submitted back in May.

I really feel for you, and at this point I don't think there is really anything you can do.

I started a thread with this very same subject not too long ago, about what I would do if I were in your position, I think I would actually pay the I-130 again to have it processed at the NBC. Like you said, right now it appears they are still stuck in May and they have been there for almost 2 months, who is to say it wont takes 2 months for June and 2 months July also.

My husband and I were talking about that option, but we're right on the cusp...could be three more months to get approved at VSC, could be three months to get approved if we file again, so it's not clear that we'd actually save all that much time. There's also some important things that we could do with that $420, which makes reapplying a less appealing option. They do seem to be stuck on May for a long time - if you look at their volume chart it looks like they got a lot of applications between March and May, declining somewhat in June onwards, so it's possible that once they make it through those higher May numbers that things will pick up. It's also possible that the approvals showing up on here are an unlucky subset, or that a lot of people aren't reporting back on their NOA2s, and so this is making the process look slower when in fact it is (slightly) faster. I believe there is a way to find out directly from VSC which date they are working on (which includes two weeks to either side), but since I haven't reached the magic 5-month mark yet I don't know if they will talk to me.

Well, you can take a look to the USCIS website,go to "Processing Times" https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/processTimesDisplayInit.do and select VSC;they have updated the USCIS Processing Time Information for VSC today, now it doesn't say anymore "5 months", now it displays the date: May 21st, 2012 for I-130 Field Office Processing Dates for Vermont Service Center as of: October 30, 2012

We are June filers and we are still waiting and waiting for an answer....

My husband called the USCIS yesterday and they said they were working on May 14th, that was the same date they gave him since he started calling on 1st week of november (when we reached the 5 months mark), and TODAY,website states they are working on May 21st. So, don't worry, I think the same date that they provide you over the phone it's the same one that now we can check online.

Good luck on your visa journey!
