Yesterday we received a Request For Evidence (RFE) indicating that we needed to provide several of the basic documents that were already included for the I-130.

In our new package for the RFE, we're sending the following documents:

- 3 engagement pictures

- 5 pictures that we have taken across the length of our relationship prior to marriage

- 2 pictures with us together with her family

- bank statements for checkings and savings accounts

- rental property agreement

- letter from finance company about our vehicle

- both insurance cards for our vehicles

- 4 affidavits (one from both of our witnesses during wedding, one from her sister, and one from my best friend)

- itinerary information from a trip we took together to San Antonio

If there is ANYTHING else that someone could suggest we send along for further evidence of the bona fides of our marriage or relationship, please let me know. I have lived in the United States for 7 years now on a student visa, OPT visa and then an H1-B visa. Therefore, I wouldn't have any information indicating that we had to travel outside of the country to visit each other, etc... We were married in a court house before she went overseas for military duty, so we don't have official wedding pictures, etc...

Also, within the letter we received from USCIS, they said that we did not provide enough evidence of our previous marriage being terminated and to provide documentation proving that. The kicker is - neither of us have ever BEEN married before. Should we write a letter indicating this or how does someone suggest we take care of that piece?

Thanks for any and all help with this! I appreciate it well in advance.

Yes we did. That was included in the original packet for the I-130 and they even indicated on the letter saying "The records indicate that you were married on March 27th, 2012, etc..etc..."

I think you're sending good evidence..at least that's what most people send. As for the previous marriage, I would try to get some sort of "certificate" stating that neither of you were married before... some websites provide that information (like intellius), maybe it would be helpful...

Thanks for the helpful bit of advice. I checked with Intellius and they don't offer Marriage records through the state of Iowa where we are at, so we wouldn't be able to access that, unfortunately.

On each of the affidavit's, our affiants said that they knew for a fact that neither of us were ever married prior to this relationship due to the length of time that they had spent with us, etc..etc.. I am wondering if that would suffice.

I planned on having my wife call the USCIS line and talk to a representative and see if they would give some input, perhaps, and maybe it's just a template that gets sent out from the particular office that we received the notification from.

The part that really bugs me is that on the bottom of the letter, they have used "white out" and blanked out a piece that said "CC: Person's Name, Person's Address" and it was some asian/korean fellow. It makes me think this is just a standard document that they send out to anyone during the RFE.

You're probably right about the letter being just a template they send depending on what they want... for instance, in your case, they might have wanted more evidence (which you're sending now) and it doenst have anything to do with previous marriages...but it could happen in case they did a background check and found someone with the same name you have i dont know.. I'm just guessing now lol..

Calling them would be a good approach, but I think you're fine..
