Hi there,

So basically USCIS is giving us bull ####### and can't give my fiancee (USC) a straight answer. One person said we will post the NOA2 confirmation letter to her by this Friday, and another one said we sent Packet 3 to your fiancee (me) three weeks ago but we sent it to number 42 (my house number is 41) and they did an RTS.

So tired of this #######, is there anyway that I, the beneficiary, can contact the NVC to see if they have my case? Do I need to give them any reference numbers because guess what, the NOA1 number they gave us doesn't work when trying to track it online.

The number I have to contact them is 001-202-663-1225.

Thank you for your time :)

Don't worry too much about the fact your case cant be tracked. I couldn't track mine online and it was so frustrating! Kept saying it didn't exist but then I checked it and it was available and approved! So keep your chin up :)

You can contact the NVC - +12026631225, Press 1 and then 0. Give them your receipt number and maybe mention that your not sure if its been approved or not as the people at USCIS are saying different things.

I guess its worth a shot :D good luck!

Brock--maybe you don't understand the process enough, and I'm not real sure what exactly your frustration is. Did you get an email that the petition has been approved or are you trying to find that out? If you are indeed approved, this happens next:

NOA2 confirmation letter will be mailed to the USC because it goes to the person who filed the petition saying her petition was approved. You or she do not need that letter for anything until you file for AOS. The actual approval notice isn't really a concern right now.

USCIS will turn your fiance's approved petition file over to NVC. At that point, you're done with USCIS until you marry and apply for your greencard. Your online status will no longer track your progress to the visa. NVC is under the Dept of State (DOS) as is the embassy in London. It's a totally different government unit.

NVC 603-334-0700 Press 1 for English, 5 to talk to someone

Hours: Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 12:00 PM (EST). Best time to call is 7:30 AM to 9:00 AM and 10:00 PM to 12:00 PM.

You can call and speak to a person to find out if they got the petition from USCIS, and when they sent it on to London. They will also tell you the new DOS case number they assigned....LNDXXXXXXXX. Do not try to put in your old USCIS case number for an automated update. K1s only are at NVC a couple of days and are never entered into the automated system like spouse visas are. You must get your info from a live person. Your USC fiancé will get a notice from NVC telling her that case number and that it is on the way to London., so it's not a requirement to call NVC. But people who can't wait for the letter call to find out a little sooner than waiting on the post.

It will take London a week or 2 or 3 to send you (beneficiary) a letter to your home in the UK, with instructions on how to apply for your visa. The actual letter isn't important to have. There's copy of it posted in the UK forum for you to read. It basically tells you to go to an embassy webpage to get your instructions. It is important to know London is ready for you to apply and that's the only significance of the letter. But you can call the Dept of State and get the same information. Ask if London has logged your case yet. If so, then you can move on with the application whether you ever get London's letter (also known as packet 3).

DOS 202-663-1225 press 1, then 0

There is a thread in the UK forum to help you from NOA2 to getting your interview. I suggest it's time for you to start at Post #1 and start reading. Each consulate has different procedures so you need to get with the UK folks now for your London part of the journey. Here's the thread --

Well if you were told by the USCIS different stories about where on earth your petition and NOA2 stands within this process I think you too would be feeling frustrated, angry, annoyed and emotionally all over the place. Not to mention that the NOA1 reference number that they gave you doesn't work so you cannot track it online.

However thank you for the information you have provided me. It is nice to get a refesh crash course on what is to come next and prepare myself for whenever I do get Packet 3.

I appreciate it thank you.

Awesome! I was fearing that I would get the same response as I did with the USCIS (quite rude if you ask me lol!)

I shall be calling them tomorrow, thank you!

Lol not really helping my mental state of mind but yes I understand that VSC processing time has gone up from 5.5 months to 7 months.

Mind you the time lines aren't always accurate as has been seen in many cases! :D

I wasn't criticizing your frustration at all, I just wasn't sure how to answer you to best help. I couldn't figure out if you were approved and were calling USCIS when DOS had taken over your case. Or if you were wanting to call NVC when USCIS still had you 'round the neck. Best of luck to you.

Sorry I didnt mean to snap, I know you were trying to help and I appreciate that. Just so hard seeing my fiancee so ill and all I wanna do is to look after her, yet people can't get their stories straight about where our petition stands.

Sorry again, and thank you again :)
