It cant hurt! What is the delay with NVC??? Although we are waiting 201 days so far for our NOA2 I put in a service request last month, And since no decision yet, I sent our Senator a email on Sunday evening since our congressman wasnt re-elected and is leaving office. I thought it was a long shot but worth a try and it would probably take forever for a response, but much to my surprise his office called me yesterday and said they had already contacted VSC and We would have an answer by the close of business today. So you never know!!!! Give it a shot!!!!!

Good Luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

hey all

my husband and I are thinking of asking a congressman for help . Do you think this will help us with our case or will this put us at the bottom of the file? Thank you!

You should see the previous thread here on how slow the US Embassy in Sanaa is at scheduling interview appointments. I don't know if they are playing catch up or if they are administratively closed and not even making appointments. It seems their other appointment services on the website (US Citizen Services) is closed and not offering appointments. I'll probably be in the same boat as you 6 months from now. It's not fun at all. I recommend emailing the embassy every so often to inquire. You may get a personal response. I know for a fact they are checking their emails [iVSanaa@state.gov] .

It can't hurt to try with the congressman but he or she can't really DO anything for you other than inquire. It seems you are not alone in this boat. I hope they either get back on track with interviews or close and send their applications to Jordan like last year.

This may work for certain countries but may not work in countries that are experiencing problems such as Yemen. From my experience, i have written to my senator multiple times and they did follow up with an inquiry to NVC but to no avail i did not receive an interview time or date. It seems Yemen is heavily backlogged and understaffed due to current conditions. Its still worth a try and Good Luck.
