I hope I post this in the correct forum...

My hubbies interview is coming up real quick, Delhi embassy..

Where do we submit his paperwork in Chandigarh?

And how much are the fees associated with filling those paperwork?

Lastly, how long before the interview can he get his medical completed?

All advice is welcomed but, appreciated sooner than later.....

Have you consulted the consulate's website?

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

2. nothing, you have paid all fee at NVC level.

Tbone-I checked on the consulate website and it was not helpful at all...

Pgupta-SO there is no packet 3....The only thing I recieved from NVC 2 weeks ago was that I have been scheduled for an interview...My husband all his documents have been recieved and be sure to bring the original marriage certificate.....So does that mean we just show that at the interview? ANd lastly, the the medical the hospital stated would recieve the results in two business days...SO he has it Friday....We take those results in on the day of the interview? Just so many things to worry about...DOn't want to mess up when I've come so long...

I created a profile for the www.ustraveldocs.com like instructed and the customer service messed up and been trying to resolve that.....Is that necessary for this process...ALl information is helpful and needed immediately..

Thankyou for everything

pgupta - 1. What paperwork> you have submitted everything at NVC remaining you have to take with you for interview.

MINE - you must have interview letter from NVC stating what you can submit to VFS... read it carefully.

When we went through, we have submitted DS230, marriage certificate copy, PCC copy, RPO PCC copy and other supporting documents to Jalandhar

Even when we went to submit supporting documents to VFS, they did not take any additional supporting documents.

We were give 221g to submit all supporting documents to VFS, even though we had all with us (it added 2 months)...

We have mentioned during interview that VFS did not take it first time but was told to go back to VFS and submit documents there.

Please be careful

And how much are the fees associated with filling those paperwork?

pgupta - 2. nothing, you have paid all fee at NVC level.

MINE - Talk to VFS when you go there to submit documents... you may need to do nothing here.. best to visit VFS.

Lastly, how long before the interview can he get his medical completed?

pgupta - 3. ASAP, since your interview is 12/20 do it now. they take time to give you medical report as well. Medical is valid 3pgupta-6 months,

MINE - Get the medical done, they will submit report to consulate on line, you will get a copy and submit it to VFS (it should clearly stated there)

Packet-3 is for Consular filing candidates.

IR-1/CR-1 Visas, packet-3 and 4 are done at NVC stage. you pay all the fees and all original documents to NVC, if anything is remaining NVC sends you packet-4 that is interview letter it contains a page at end which has what to bring for interview, if any. and no fingerprinting appointment as for other non-immigrant visa folks, for imm visas fingerprinting is done during interview ate consulate.

and there is no VFS anymore process has changed since September and new contractor is Team Stanley who manages OFCs in India.

Even you regsiter online for passport delivery they will ask you to fill paper delivery form again during interview and you will have option to pay Rs 300 and get it delivered to your home.

with interview letter you arrange for medical and take sealed medical report envelop with you for intreview. no need to take x-rays.

Gupta ji - Can you please provide me more info about it so I can not give out of date advice to OPs.

they have created a new website ustraveldocs.com which handles almost everything, but this site is geared towards Non-Immigrant visa folks. Immigrant Visa folks who gets Interview Date assigned from NVC go they a slightly different path.

1) NVC - pay all fees and deposit all originals including PCC, if you are not going to have some original in time ask for excuse and they will allow you to carry for interview.

2) NVC send you interview letter, which is Packet-4

3) Get Medical Done and get Medical RFeport in Sealed envelop

4) Go for Interview in Consulate

- they will give your originals back

- ask for any missing documents

- they will take fingerprints

- ask for medical report (do not take X-Rays)

- Fill Passport Delivery Form, you have option to pay Rs 300 and get it delivered at home or pick up at 33 document delivery locations in India for free.
