I seem to have sent a lot less than most people:

  • 2 pictures of us together
  • Our marriage certificate
  • My daughter's school enrollment sheet with both of us listed as parents
  • A facebook post by my MIL on the day of the wedding welcoming us into the family with other people's comments and likes
  • pictures of our door/mailbox with our names on it
  • Mail sent to us separately at the same address
  • Package slips from the post office addressed to each of us at the same address
  • My Danish monthly bus pass with the same address on it

We can't and don't have both of us on a lease, utilities in both of our names, bank accounts in both of our names, or credit cards in both of our names. They just aren't possible.

Am I freaking out thinking that we are for sure going to get a RFE? I've collected boarding passes, a lot more pictures, and receipts showing my credit card being used here, but I am worried that compared to 90% of VJers we have not a whole lot of solid evidence especially being that we live together.

Has anyone else been ok with something similar to what we sent?

Based on the items that you did submit, it's highly unlikely an RFE will be issued. Those items on the instructions are suggestions, not required items.

I think you're perfectly fine Nola, especially for Stockholm. We sent a lot less than you, no RFEs from USCIS, and weren't asked to show any evidence of bonafide marriage at the interview. Evidence of co-mingled finances are more relevant when filing for ROC two years down the line. They don't expect newlyweds in immigration limbo to co-own a house yet.

You know I was going insane last week. I know quite well that there will always be concerns, what ifs etc., but things have a tendency to turn out well!

Thanks for reassuring me guys. I've been panicking that we'd get a RFE and I would never even get the letter with how successful we seem to be in getting the NOA1 by mail.
