Hi!

I am in the States on F-1 visa and I'm working during the OPT period. My EAD expires at the end of June.

I got married last week to a wonderful man and we are currently trying to file all the documents, including another work permit and travel document.

The lease at my current apartment is not up for a few months but I put down my current address as my husband's house. I notified the DMV and school of the address change. This sould be ok, right?

I've had people tell me that it is a good idea to create joint bank accounts and submit this at the time of intial application. Is this true?

Also, on the application for EAD and Advance parole, do I put my current status as F-1 or as applying for AOS from marriage to a citizen?

If anybody could answer these questions, I would be very grateful.

Thanks!

For applications for AP and EAD you should put something like "AOS applicant", since as soon as you file you will no longer be F-1.

Good luck with the whole process.

At AOS interviews, you'll have to present "evidence" of your (you and your sponse) life together. Joint bank account is one. Also, people typically take utility bills, insurances, apartment/house lease, morage, letters, etc, anything that shows that you live together and share life.

I don't think you HAVE to have joing bank account as long as you have other proof to present, but I think joing bank account would help.
