I filed petitions for my parents last Oct 2012. Receipt date Oct 3,2012. Both petitions were transfered to National Benefits Center.Today I checked the status & was delighted to see that my father's petition was approved Dec 3, 2012. As you can see it took only 2 months for the approval. It's kinda a bittersweet feeling that my mother's petition is still not approved. When I send the petitions i failed to mention a request in my cover letter that both petitions be processed together. I mailed them both in the same USPS envelope.

What will be the outcome of this? If I received a letter from NVC regarding the AOS fees & required supporting documents for my father's petition, should I delay and just wait till my mom's case reach NVC? Thus, paying only one AOS fee for both parents & sending in all the supporting documents at the same time? Should I include a cover letter for a request that from then on the two petitions be processed together? I really want them to have the same day interview. It will be hard if they wind up having different interview dates for reasons I will not mention.

i say call into USCIS, get an ISO, and ask what's up.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

Prior to posting this topic I already called the customer service & was able to talked with a live person. He mentioned that he is a ------ officer & his badge number -------. Is he a Tier 2 officer? I did asked him why the petitions weren't adjudicated at the same time & he replied that petitions are processed separately. I mentioned to him that I have heard of cases were parents's petitions were approved at the same time, he had the same standard reply.

I will call again tomorrow to speak with a different officer.
