hi fellow vjers , i have two questions that are not really important but i am still asking them out of curiosity.i have just been granted the permanent residency and still waiting for my GC to come in the mail.ok,here are the questions -

1) As my Social security card(got it with the EAD) say 'can work in the country by DHS authorization only', Do i have to go the SSA to get the note removed from the card as i am a permanent resident now ? i am aware the SSN will remain the same but do i have to update my status at SSA so that i can get a new card without the above said notion ?

2) i am planning to fly out of the US for leisure for a month.being a GC holder,do i have to fill out the arrival/departure I-94 form on my way back to the US ? kindly enlighten

ditto, yes to the first one, no to the second one, the i94 is for tourists or certain visas, you live here, you have a GC, you are not visiting.

you have to go to the SS office to change the card, they will mail you a new one without that.

Wait until you get your green card before you go to the Social Security office. They won't issue a new card without that statement based only on the EAD. I've been down that road. The Social Security card doesn't say you can't work. It says that the card is not valid for employment without DHS authorization. An EAD card IS DHS authorization. Once you have your green card then they'll issue a Social Security card without the DHS statement.
