On November 28 Paul got the following text message from the USCIS regarding his EAD:

"On November 28, 2012, we ordered production of your new card. Please allow 30 days for your card to be mailed to you. If we need something from you we will contact you. If you move before you receive the card, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283". (on the USCIS website it shows card/document production as status)

And this one regarding his I131:

"On November 28, 2012, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I131 APPLICATION FOR USCIS TRAVEL DOCUMENT. Please follow any instructions on the notice. If you move before you receive the notice, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283."

Then he got this status update via text from the USCIS:

"On December 3, 2012, we ordered production of your new card. Please allow 30 days for your card to be mailed to you. If we need something from you we will contact you. If you move before you receive the card, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283."

He got no text regarding his I131 today. It hasn't moved into card/document production. Has anyone else gotten duplicate messages like this from USCIS? Should we call to find out what's going or wait it out?

Uh. just wait. Calling USCIS is very pointless at any point unless your case has not been touched 30 days after the current processing times. Since your case is moving, just WAIT!.

The I-131 is just an endorsement that appears on the EAD, so he won't receive any more notifications for it, apart from the approval notification that he got. It's not a separate card to the EAD.

During our entire AOS process, we got numerous duplicate, conflicting, out-of-sequence status updates from USCIS. This happened with the EAD/AP combo cards and continued with the I-551 2-year conditional GCs. One day we would get "Card/Document in Production" messages, the next day we got "Decision" messages, this happened several times. We decided to take the mere fact that we were getting positive action messages as a positive sign, and just wait.

It paid off, with the EAD/AP" combo cards and most recently, the I-551 GCs.

Our advice....hang in there and wait.

YMMV

Good luck on your immigration journey.

Thanks guys! I was a bit concerned maybe we'd gotten hung up in some unending loop. If his card is in production we'll just take that as progress and be thankful!

I received my "Card in Production email" last Friday and I received another email last night about my AP blink.gif Since we know the EAD/AP combo card is one, I had already assumed that they had approved both things on Friday and sent the card to be made tongue.gif

While we are on the subject. How long does it typically take for the card to arrive in the mail, after the approval notice? A week? 2?

Ours was approved on 11/15 and arrived 11/23. I checked a few others and the timeline seemed about the same - a little over a week more or less

I think that we got ours in 7-10 days.
