A friend of mine was arrested twice while living in England and overstayed his visa. The first arrest was after a bar fight. A man was getting aggressive with his cousin's wife and wouldn't let up. My friend stepped up to defend her, and all involved were arrested. My friend was released with no conviction, not even a court date (I assume that means charges were dropped). The second arrest was on charges of domestic violence. His ex-girlfriend made the call because she was mad at him. Again, he was released with no conviction, no court date. Finally, 6 months after his visa had expired the police showed up at his apartment looking for his cousin. They asked to see his ID and noticed that he had overstayed. He was told at the airport that he wasn't being deported because he was leaving willingly, but he doesn't feel comfortable trusting that. He's concerned that all of this will show up on his UK Police Report and would like to know if there are any waivers or affidavits that he might need. If so, what are they, and where can we find them?
