chill ho ho kar kulfi ban gaya hoon

Pawan,

Yesterday I had word with the U.S. Visa help desk and I asked them that why the status is still showing Ready i.e pre-interview status whereas the status date has been updated to Jan 9, 2013. At that time the guy was not able to answer my query because he himself was confused and he told me Ma'm I am escalating your issue to the concerned immigration department and they will get back to you within 24 - 48 hours....

Today I got the reply:

Your application is pending under Section 221(g) of the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA) for mandatory administrative processing. There is no definite time frame for this processing as it depends on the individual circumstances of each case. The Department of State is continuously working to improve processing and expedite visas, and we appreciate your patience. Please be assured that we will contact you as soon as processing is complete.

For more detail please visit our website: www.ustraveldocs.com/in

Check the status of your visa online with the U.S. Department of State’s CEAC Status Check - https://ceac.state.gov/CEAC/

Use your CEAC barcode or case number and the location where your interview occurred to check the status of your case.

Click on “Check My Visa Application Status.” If you received a 221g letter or were told your case requires further “Administrative Processing” this system will let you know if your case has been approved, requires more information, or is still being processed.

Now it is saying Mandatory Administrative Processing......ab yea kya hain? this processing is not for 60days??? or indefinite period...I am really scared and frustrated now..

my case changed to Janury 11th.....I don't understand to keep changing the date, if nothing needs to be done. My file is on final stage awaiting officer's review. I will visit embassy in India in February.

Thank You Pawan. I was so tensed. My husband just called me and I told him the same story. He said wait for this month at least. Same thing whatever you told me.. So getting a little sigh of relief.

BTW, my status is still showing "Ready" only the date updated to jan 9, 2013, but may be in their office, the status has been updated to mandatory AP. Quite Possible.

I called DOS, they also said 221g document Submission and Administrative Processing is the same thing. this status means they are still revewing out docs/file. All is Well.
