How many passport photos do I need for packet 3?

Okay, how many passport photos do I need? I just went to Officeworks today and got 6 done. 3 for the medical, 2 for packet 3. Then I started filling in the DS-156 and it has a space to stick passport photos on, and you're supposed to make two copies of that. So do I need 7 altogether? Or is there more coming?

The instructions for packet 3 say you need 2 passport photos. Are they the same ones that you stick on the DS-156? Or are they in addition to that so you need 4 altogether for packet 3?

Sorry for the spate of questions! Packet 3 underway, lol!

Oh, and did everyone else end up paying $10 per 2 photos? I went to the chemist first and they said they couldn't do them in the American 2 x 2 size. So I went to Officeworks, who were happy to do it but instead of getting 8 for $10 as it would have been for the smaller Australian passport photo size, it cost that much for just two. They said it would cost the same at other places too due to the size difference.

Hey, I had 3 Australian size passport photos for my medical in Brisbane, and I attached the 2 American visa pics in a zip lock bag to a labelled sheet of paper behind the DS156 form for my packet 3. Yeah, the American pics were pretty expensive. I think I paid $22 for four. Good luck! :)

What Kel and Matt said, also, you may notice when you get packet 4 that they tell you to bring 2 photos with you 'if you have not already supplied them/or the ones you already supplied were more than 6 months old at time of interview' I took another 2 anyway, but I didn't need them, I wanted to make sure I didn't have any kind of delay. I paid around $20 something for 4 also.

I used a photobooth that does American photo sizes and it was $10 for 4. For AOS i used http://www.epassportphoto.com/ and also used that site for updating my Aussie passport. It's free to use you just take the e-file on a USB or whatever to a photo printer and they're done.

Thanks everybody. So I'm not actually supposed to stick the photos onto the DS-156 myself, just put them in a ziplock?

Vanessa thanks for the online photo link. You're such a wealth of information! I wish there was a folder here with all of the tips and guides you've written. Thanks for being such a great help to all of us. :)
