Faded ticket stubs

I've assembled my completed K-1 Visa packet, but I've run into a problem. Some of the original ticket stubs are very faded despite only being 1.5-2 years old. They are thermally printed, and therefore, there's no actual ink. I've tried black and white copies and color copies, and they come out almost blank. Luckily, only some of them are faded, but I'm not sure what to do. Should I send the originals?

Thank you!

I should also note that I've tried increasing the contrast on the copy machine, and even that doesn't really help. You can see the information on the original ticket stubs(although somewhat difficult).

If you have enough stubs to prove you've been together you're probably ok. You don't have to send every one.

If you need these, have you tried taking a photo? If it's visible to the naked eye, you might be able to capture in a photo, then print that out. Play with lighting possibly.

Good luck!

Thanks! I'll try that. I hope that will work. I think we have a total of 9 flights to see each other in the past 2 years, with an additional 2 flights that we have taken together. So I think there is plenty of evidence even with the faded tickets! I'm a worrier though, and I just want everything to be perfect. I'm definitely going to overnight our packet too! :)

The following technique may be more effective than simply photocopying.

1) Use a scanner to get an image file such as a JPG file of the documents

2) Open them in an application such as Photoshop or GIMP

3) Use the levels function to increase the contrast

Can't guarantee it will work but we use that process at work when someone brings in a faded document. Needless to say you need to know what I'm talking about or someone who does to actually do this.

Thank you everyone! I ended up going to Officemax and they used the color copying machine on "photograph" and darken and contrast and luckily it worked on all but 2 of the ticket stubs.
