Okay mail update (maybe I should start my own topic but well ya'll have heard me go on now about mail since September. Here we go.

I swear if this wasn't happening to me I wouldn't believe it. Well guess what this is something off of reality TV I swear. I have heard of this happening heck it happened at my UPS store in Dallas 3 years ago. Okay here it is.

The guy that was taking the package from folk well he was assigning bogus old tracking worthless numbers (thus the reason we can't track nothing or DHL headquarters) and this is from headquarters. They contacted my husband to go down there also.

The guy is the dispatch driver who was taking advantage of the long queue that day and kept collecting mails from customers and pocketing the money. Guess he's been doing this for a while. Turns out some other people reported him and they caught up with him.

My husband and another person were there at store ad found out he was at police station. When this scumbag saw them he pleaded for them to pay his bail.

The guy says the mail is in his house. The people that got him arrested is a company that paid him N153K ($974.53) to mail some motor parts to their brother in Paris to change for them before the warranty expires. They have been waiting 3 months (yikes). Now warranty is expired and the company can't change it any more.

So now it’s a what do you do. I said plead with the police to escort him to his house and get your mail. Good lord. Us and mail. Trust me people since even when I was in Nigeria mail has been a thorn in our butt. It was The UPS Store on Dallas, where I had my mailbox they stole our wedding rings. It took over a year to be reimbursed and those rings now cost $380 dollars more.

So some may be shaken their heads but those of us who know, know this is Nigeria. We love her but dang if there aren't some bad apples in the bunch. Lord see this is why my passport is being held up by Department of Homeland Security cuz they know I will go straight up thug gangsta 9ja freakin stupid on them. I am so hot right now I can't half see. ughhhhhhhh. We will see what happens. Action News at 11

I see my mission in this journey I am here to entertain and keep your minds happy and laughing (it's okay to LOL). But if this stuff didn't happen over here I would be like "Oh come on now". UPS had two guys doing this up in Dallas at my UPS store. They would not send my mail but pocketed my money. They had a girl that was taking peoples packages home and selling or whatevr. Our wedding rings had arrived one week after I left she stole them. We found this out 9 month slater took another 6 months to get their insurance to pay for it. They had stole my magoc jack, laptop, DVD players I had mailed there to forward to me in Nigeria. So trust me I know this pain. They found a bunch of the customers stuff up in her house when they caught her.

So this happening in Nigeria is no surprise. I should have passport tahn get my own Visa in hand by month end and Nigeria will be seeing me. So watch out now. See now you can all look at your journey and be like dangggggggg. heh Just prayer for us. I so want this Case Complete by end of Deember just to be done. I think 4 1/2 months at NVC is enough (lord why why can't we all have EP).

OMG :wow:

Now I see why you didn't go down there already.

Cant see why it took all this time for them to smell what was going on. Thats a big stink.

Okay for us its just been 1 week. But 3 months really. But DHS and the tReasury now have all their monies back (money they paid to get me home from Nigeria last year. Told ya it has not been easy or fun). So now passport will be released than get my 9ja Visa and off I go to kick some butt.

can someone tell me, why its taking so much time in my case, i see others getting mails so promptly... now how soon i expect to get mail for my NVC case number DS 3032 and other things. i am even calling them daily same response i get on phones wait for 15 days etc types

actions have consequences. Inaction, even more so.

The fact that your 'first report' is that you received something from NVC tells me that the USCitizen Petitioner

is NOT aware of VJ's 'go fast' mode at NVC.

Please, I beg of you, read post #1 in this topic, from a PC, clicking through all links you see, learning more about 'how to go fast' at NVC.

It really is a great disservice to the beneficiary and the Petitioner, to NOT know about this stuff, and flip into 'postal notification' mode with NVC.

I do know you are calling - perhaps you should be asking, directly, for the Consular Casefile Number and the Invoice Identification Number?

For this particular evolution, The DHL site manager should be coordinating with the police to recover all of the packages at the guys house, and the DHL Site Manager should be able to interact with your husband for an approximate delivery schedule.

So, for 'whats next' with your husband, he needs to make a new best friend, that DHL site manager, nowish. I do mean nowish.

I just received error that to post here I must have 5 posts?

Last Friday the NVC told me the case was closed (YEAH) and that they would wait for scheduling from Embassy (Caracas)This morning I receive this email:

Dear Sir or Madam:

The National Visa Center has received all documentation necessary to complete pre-processing of your case. As soon as an interview date has been scheduled, the applicant, petitioner and attorney (if applicable) will be notified.

The applicant should NOT make any travel arrangements, sell property, or give up employment until the US Embassy or Consulate General has issued a visa.

The US Embassy or Consulate General may require additional documentation at the time of the interview. Additional documentation requirements if applicable can be referenced at the following URL: http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3742.html

Sincerely,

Director

National Visa Center

What I am unclear on is how an interview gets scheduled. The embassy provides a list of dates to the NVC to work from and first come first served?

The embassy in Caracas has no knowledge of this case as of this morning when they returned my email. SO I am wondering on timeframe when we would likely see a date for interview and if someone knows, what is this procedure for connecting a case with an interview date?

Any help you can provide will be wonderful!

Let's assume for the moment that NVC schedules the interview for Caracas.

For an interview to be scheduled, the final review has to be complete and the casefile has to be IN the queue for scheduling,

and the IV unit has to have told NVC what the open slots are.

Usually, the IV Unit releases 'the next month of slots' during the 1st or 2nd full week of the month, and those casefiles in the scheduling queue are assigned interview dates for that next month of open slots.

Anyway, that's what USUALLY happens. We do get reports, as well, of scheduling occuring NOT during that 1st or 2nd full week of the month, as well.

So, now you have a 'case complete' email. If you'd like to know more, call INTO NVC, and ask if your casefile is getting into the scheduling queue, and ask if the scheduling for Caracas is finished for the month of December (and let us know what you learn, ya? - helps other folks coming up behind you)..

Caracas IV won't know of your casefile till you are scheduled at NVC. If you are seeking an earlier appointment date - you can't get one UNTIL you have been assigned a date first ; you then email the IV unit asking for an earlier appointment. If they can accomodate you, they will. If not, well, they'll tell you that also.

Good Luck !

Grats on the case complete! And that email is indicative of that. Be happy as it's rare to receive one as a non-EP case!

As soon as a case is complete, it's put in queue for an interview date to be scheduled. As far as I know, each country provides NVC with a schedule of availability for each month and then NVC uses that to schedule interviews, in order of case complete (unless expedited). After a case is scheduled an interview, that case is mailed out to the embassy. Until the embassy receives your case from NVC, they have no knowledge of your case.

As for time frames between case complete and interview date scheduled, this ALWAYS varies by country. So YOU need to do your own research, using the timeline functions provided to you here on VJ. Here's a good place to start: http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/k1list.php?cfl=0&op1=3&op2=d&op3=5&op4=1&op5=5,6,8,10,11,13,14,15,16,17,18,20,21,22,25,26,27,28,108,110,111,208,210,211&op6=All&op7=Venezuela&dfile=No&adv= Have fun with your research :)

Just off with NVC

NVC does schedule interviews for Caracas

Our case went into scheduling last Friday

Appointments are completed for December

NVC said they usually receive new appointment dates/times from Embassy, 1st or 2nd week or month, then NVC assigns on a first in, first out basis. Each month number of cases into scheduling varies, so forecasting which month difficult.

This is what I took away. Our case is in correct location for scheduling, and when we get interview is entirely dependent on number of interviews alloted by Caracas, and number waiting in front of ours. IF when the January dates are assigned ours does not come to top of list, we may have to wait another month for next release of interview appointments
