how to make sure my interview is easy? well my wife's interview I should say lol

Make sure you bring all documents with you (required and optional ones), as well as practice interview questions, so your wife knows everything about you :)

ok thanks saylin. we got all the documents but is it necessary to get a job letter? I don't see that requirement anywhere for CR1 applicants. I would get one but its so damn hard bcoz we have to deal with the work number and they will not issue job letter and my HR refuse to give any type of document she refers me to the work number lol I am getting nowhere.

I also didnt want to go thorugh my HR office, I sent in my paystubs for the last six months and my tax transcripts for the last 3 years, I am hoping that the fact I have been here for almost 3 years will provide good proof of employment stability, I will update once my AOS gets approved (fingers crossed).

This of course varies by consulate/embassy (some have much stricter restrictions), but generally, no, an employment letter is not necessary. As long as you have other proof (like pay stubs), you should be fine.

husband's interview...DONE!

how did it go...approved (but with some vagueness - hence the non-capitalized, no dancing emoticon depiction of the word...let me explain)

in short, the interview was...short. lol

my husband's interview was at 6:15am and he was out by 8:45am. most of the time was taken up by the lining up, the fingerprinting, and the prescreening but with the american consul he was asked only a few questions, wasn't asked to see any more documentation and that was it. but what left him leaving with a question mark in his head was what the consul said...he said, "your application looks good but i can't grant you a visa right now. maybe this afternoon or tomorrow morning." HUH?! well, then he just told him to sit and wait for further instructions and the next time he was called was for him to sign for the parcel service that would be delivering his visa to him. so yes, he's approved but i kinda wish the consul didn't utter the words "i can't grant you a visa"...makes you go a little nuttier than you already are. :bonk: :bonk: :bonk:

but hey, here are the much awaited for emoticons...

Grats! kicking.gif They may have just meant that they can't get the visa issued that day, but the next day instead (maybe their printers broke). I'm sure once he has the visa in hand, it'll feel a lot more real ;)
