Hi all :) Its been a while since Ive written in this thread. I hope all of you are well and moving swiftly along in the process. Happy New Year too :star:

I have my interview coming up this Thursday :wow: I think I have everything I could need but I still cant help but be nervous. Its crazy to think that the past 9 months have lead up to this one day and the perception of one individual.. scary stuff! :o Any advise or suggestions from yall would be greatly appreciated. My husband seems to think "babe we got this" is sufficient to put my mind at ease lol bless his heart (L)

Well, keep well peeps :D

Hope everyones 2013 has been good so far

Two pieces of advice: go over the interview questions (http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/Consular_Interview_Questions) and make sure you have all documents needed.

Good luck :)

Thanks Saylin  Ive read and re-read that link about a katrillion times

RE the docs, I have copies of everything submitted (except the AOS Package but the interview letter confirmed receipt of the AOS and Tax Returns so I hope that wont be a problem), additional pics and cards, money gram receipts, copies of our chats. That should suffice right?

Sounds good to me. Although I don't know how hard interviews are in SA...

Okay so we have emailed our DS-3032 and are now waiting for bills to be generated for AOS and visa fee right? (I think I am right)...okay so here is my question....how far in advance do they tell you the date of your interview? this process is so nerve wracking b/c you can't book an airline without knowing that obviously and I need to get a visa...also for police report my hubby is going for this tomorrow...in Nigeria this is only good for 3 months...are we too soon or is this ok? we are trying to avoid it expiring but of course if it does we will just have to get a new one.... Also seeing as how NVC just received our petition in January...am I on the right thread or should I be in January's thread or does that matter lol...thanks all!

Yes, you're currently waiting for the fees to be invoiced. Keep an eye on the payment portal ;)

Typically, it seems like the average time between the interview date being scheduled and the actual date is around a month. But, it'd be better if you actually looked at timelines from the country you're going through. Study when they got their interview date and how far in the future it was. Then you can take an average of that to get a good idea. Start here: http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/k1list.php?cfl=0&op1=3&op2=d&op3=5&op4=1&op5=5,6,8,10,11,13,14,15,16,17,18,20,21,22,25,26,27,28,108,110,111,208,210,211&op6=All&op7=Nigeria&dfile=No&adv=

As for the PCC, you probably want to get that process started asap since he still has to wait to receive it, and then mail the package all the way to the US. By the time that's all done, the IV bill should have been posted, paid, and completely processed, thus NVC open to receiving the IV package from you.

As long as your documents are all in order, it's quite reasonable that you can get a case complete by the end of January, with an interview sometime in March or so (depending on Nigeria's time frames).

And each month, we migrate over to the CURRENT month. So, yes, you should be in January :P

I arrived on December 23. Still no green card. I am fairly sure I checked the box that asked if I automatically wanted to have a green card made, or whatever the form said.

Who can I get in touch with to find out about the green card. I live in Pittsburgh, PA. Is there an office I can go to, or do I e-mail/call someone?

the last two people who have received green cards at my place ( my mom and a friend) got it around the ONE MONTH mark (NYC) so i would say dnt panic until after january ends.

the holidays probably caused some hold ups too

hi VJs please I have a question that I sent a letter to expidete my case at Nvc along with AOS backage could this cause any delay on my case ?

Personally, I don't think it will cause any delay. They will either approve or ignore it but I would suggest you submit the request with your IV package instead.
