Well yesterday was the re-scheduled interview at Caracas Embassy. Because of the Christmas holiday was not the normal staff. Everything was very calm. The ONLY interview scheduled was ours. Very easy, people were really nice. No hard questions, very routine but always with a good attitude. Interview was approved, but with so little drama.

Embassy officer offered to expidite VISA in a couple days, and said he would begin working on it immediately.

Thanks to all of you for helping with answers and support!

WOOOOW, that is amazing!!! CONGRATS! kicking.gifkicking.gifkicking.gifkicking.gif

Called NVC yesterday and today they're saying my case isn't there yet. The operator asked about my notice date and asked me to look on my approval notice and tell her where they've forwarded my petition after approval (which is NVC) she said to call back Jan 9th, I'm goin to call again tomorrow...how long does it usually take to get to NVC?? I was hoping for it to be there before new years :(

It usually takes around 1-2 weeks, but because of the holidays, it's probably taking longer. Just keep calling once a day like you're doing. And don't fret. It could take a few weeks.

Got an RFE on Dec 4th from the NVC which we responded to and they rec'd on Dec 12th. Hoping this will be the final documents they need and that December will be our last month in the NVC (been here since September)

Praying for a case complete in the next few weeks and an interview date to follow.

Good luck to all......

My wife submitted her AOS and we were told that everything is fine last Friday with it now we got a checklist about her US domicile and she already submitted the voter registration card copy and bank account statements from the SRP and Bank of America for recent months. What should we do now? If we should send something else, what should we send? Or should I speak with a supervisor?

Have the petitioner speak with a supervisor.

Study my prior posts about domicile, also, as I've been writing about it almost 4 years now.

I think ur approval and mine are within a day or two of each other. NVC told me yesterday morning that my file arrived 12/20 but not entered into the system yet. will call again tonight.

My Noa 2 indicates it was mailed by NBC even though i was told my file had been forwarded to my local office prior the approval.

I am sure you will hear something latest monday :)

yes we are 2 days apart, well hopefully mine shows up there soon and they assign a case number for both of us in the next couple of days because I am hoping to fly throuh NVC if that's possible, I don't want to spend more than 1.5 month at NVC, I really hope it's doable. good luck, let me know when they assign you case so I'd have a better idea, thanks

I got the NOV2 on 19 Dec, but still haven't heard from NVC yet. Meanwhile, I want to prepare all the forms and documents needed. So I have a few questions, and hopefully someone can help me. Thanks.

1. My husband and I both live in Singapore, and I used my parent-in-law's US address for correspondences from USCIS when submitting form I-130. When filling out DS-3032, should I assign my parent-in-law or my husband as my agent of choice? My husband lived with his parents before he moved to Singapore, so it's the same address either I assign my parent-in-law or my husband. I ask this because I see that an US telephone number needed on the form. And my husband doesn't have an US telephone number.

2. I know that I can email DS-3032 to NVC, should I also send the filled form to NVC by regular mail?

3. Looks like that countries that I need to obtain police certificates from request a photocopy of document from relevant consulate/immigration authority/government bodies to establish that the certificate is required by such authority. Do I need to call NVC and request for such document? How does it work?

4. My husband is a PhD student in Singapore with scholarship (that's his "income"). When filling out form I-864, Part 6. sponsor's income and employment, should he choose employed as a PhD student or unemployed?

5. For the Federal income tax return information, my husband hasn't paid tax after he moved to Singapore in 2009, what should he do then? Attach photocopies or transcripts of his Federal tax returns for his second and third most recent tax years (second option on the form)?

Thanks for your help!

 dozed off so did not make that call just before midnight as planned 1.5 months is more than doable as long as you have ALL needed documents ready and set to go with payments once you have ur case # and IIN. I am so hoping for a February interview :)

when you say "you have not heard from NVC" have you been proactive by calling them? Has your file arrived at their office and what was the response on the IIN?

agent of choice is someone that can received your documents and make payments on your behalf through a US bank account. So if your in-laws can play this role, I would say go for it as it will be faster than using your husband who I understand is currently outside the U.S.

it does not hurt to mail the DS 3032 in addition to email but I wonder how long it will take since you are outside the U.S, you probably would have gotten the email version accepted b4 the snail mail gets there.

I do not think NVC issues any document to help applicants get a police report. Go to your country portal and see ask how others have pvercome that challenge.

Hopefully someone will answer your tax questions.

Thanks for your reply. I haven't called NVC yet, but I'm planning to start doing it today.

As for agent of choice, either I assign my husband or parent-in-law, I will still use the same US address. What bothers me is the US phone number part (wonder if NVC will ever call the number tho). Say if I use my parent-in-law as the agent, when making payment online, only case number and invoice number from the invoice received from the NVC are needed right? Because my husband does have an US bank account, I guess we can make the payment online ourselves, right?

Thank you!
