All you have to do is contact the embassy, explain your situation, and kindly ask if an earlier interview date is possible. Good luck!

Saylin once again I need your help,I tried contacting the embassy.but I got confused and decided to call my lawyer and all she said is to wait patiently and she also told me to stop calling NVC "because any call or email i sent them will delay the process"

Is that true?it barely has been a week since I got my case closed and I got and email saying

Dear Sir or Madam:

The National Visa Center has received all documentation necessary to complete pre-processing

of your case. As soon as an interview date has been scheduled, the applicant, petitioner

and attorney (if applicable) will be notified.

The applicant should NOT make any travel arrangements, sell property, or give up employment

until the US Embassy or Consulate General has issued a visa.

The US Embassy or Consulate General may require additional documentation at the time of

the interview. Additional documentation requirements if applicable can be referenced at

the following URL: http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3742.html

Director

Sorry to bother but, I have a couple of questions about the DS 230.

1- question no 2 about the maiden name, I'm married but my name hasn't changed after the marriage. Should I but None or just write my full name again ?

2- question no 30 about the places I have lived for...... I've lived all my life in one place, one address and one city.

Could I write my date of birth to present, or otherwise ? and do they only need the city and country or the full address ?

Thanks in advance.

1. I didn't change my name either and for that question, I just put 'none'.

2. I've seen people who have lived in the same place their entire life and have gotten a checklist when they put their date of birth since the question says since the age of 16. So put the date when you turned 16 until the present. And it says in the question just "city or town", it doesn't need the full address.

First off, that's the case complete email, so grats! And second, no, calling them or emailing them will NOT delay the process. I'd be wary of any advice your lawyer gives in the future because of what they just told you...

Hi,

I want to know that is it necessary to send original documents to NVC for IV (birth, marriage and PCC), cant we show them during the embassy interview. My Spouse who is the petitioner doesn't want to send any original documents because sending originals involve risk. We have lawyer and he seems ok by not sending originals, can anyone tell me what needs to be done as here on VJ everyone says send originals?? as i dont want any RFE.

Originals are sent to NVC, with copies. Bring copies with you to the interview and you'll get your originals back then.

uhm - bring a new I-864 set showing the corrected 1040x stuff, with a COPY of her ITIN letter from the IRS.

Thanks for updating your timeline.

If you had not had a case complete at NVC, I would suggest to send in the new I-864.

Since you have a case complete, SHE needs to hand it over on interview day. Is not anything optional, you have updated tax stuff and MUST show the current stuff that the IRS has on you.

Since yer golden on the income levels, don't sweat that part

and remember - showing 'married filing jointly' is great fodder for 'bonafide marriage' evidence.

...sweat mode off}}

Drnell thank you so much for your help , i was trying to get all that ready as you told me to take with me to egypt and give to my wife , i am flying over there on christmas eve but i'm little confused .. my AGI will not change .. i was looking at my 2011 (1040 forms ) and compared them to (1040x forms )that was prepared by H&R Block .. my AGI still the same . am i looking at this correct way ? i even called H&R Block and they told me it will not change . also my wife has zero income she does not work , and that means nothing will change at all on the I-864 but i will still print another copy of the I-864 along with the 1040x and copy of ITIN# and have my wife give to them at the embassy .. right ??? am i missing anything ??

i'm also confused a little with something else ..we already have her ITIN# from the IRS and i sent the tax amendment to the IRS along with the ITIN form W7 , they say the Amendment takes up to 12 weeks , can we still take form 1040x to the embassy on the interview day before the IRS approves the amendment ?? .. thank you so much .

It has to either be originals or certified copies. And then a regular photocopy has to be included as well to receive those originals/certified copies back at the interview. If you don't feel comfortable sending originals (I completely understand, I wasn't), get certified copies and send those instead (what I did).

My cases were completed today. Feels like its taking forever. Maybe I will get interview for my anniversary.

waiting for an interview date is like waiting for NOA2.... such a painful wait....

totally disagree with you on that , back then we did not even know if we will get NO2 approval or RFE or what , now its just a matter of time and no more paperwork to do at this point
