Can anyone shed some light on the process for transferring a case file from NVC to embassy for interview? This morning I sent an email to embassy to request an earlier interview to coincide with my Christmas visit. The response was my case has not arrived at embassy. When I called the DOS they said it was transmitted electronically, and the paper file would follow in time for the scheduled interview. So my question is how long does it take and how can I track the paper case file to know when to re-submit my request for an earlier interview date?

There's two links in the first post on how to track your case. I put them there for a reason ;)

Hmmm... I used this format EXP 11 DEC2012A and found many shipments, but nothing going to Caracas. I talked to NVC this morning, they said shipped Dec 12 so I used every date from Dec 9-Dec 14 no joy. Ideas??

There should be a space between the month and year, so EXP 11 DEC 2012A. I'll take a look now and see if I find anything.

I don't quite get how the AOS can be approved but for the embassy to say no.

The NVC doesn't "approve" anything, they simply review the information that was submitted. It's the CO at the Embassy that makes the final determination on whether or not the Affidavit of Support is going to be accepted.

Alright, well it seems the formatting for tracking DHL has changed. There's no longer a space between the month and year. Wonder when they changed that...

Anyways, I tried all that week's dates but couldn't find anything going to Venezuela. The 100% guaranteed way to know when your package arrives at the embassy is to call DOS and inquire. They're the middle man essentially between NVC and the embassy, so they can see when your case has arrived. The number is in the first post.

Thanks Saylin!

I saw in an earlier post the date format had changed again to what I was using, but will be happy to know whatever you can find ;-)

Found it! http://www.dhl.com/content/g0/en/express/tracking.shtml?brand=DHL&AWB=8898285981%0D%0A

I talked to them this morning, said electronic copy was transmitted (???) but could not tell me if paper copy has been shipped or received. Did I ask the wrong question? Seems if you don't format the questions just so, they don't get you the right answer. What should I ask?

See my last post ;) (It's not a guarantee that YOUR case is in that package, but it's a pretty good bet!)

THANKS!!!

FYI just off with DOS, lady told me files were NOT shipped by DHL, but by Diplomatic Pouch, and take 2 or 3 weeks to arrive. WOW! Happy to know our government services are functioning to very efficiently!!

Also what did you search on for DHL shipment?

THANKS!!

Well, as far as I know, it's by DHL, but with some kind of special Diplomatic boxes. And they usually arrive within a few days. Not sure what that lady was talking about...

And I used EXP 11 DEC2012A, but set the destination country to Venezuela and found it that way. It weirdly doesn't list it if you don't specify the country...

Thanks for your help! I sent an email to the embassy with the delivery info, maybe they will acknowledge receipt of package, and respond to my request.

What's your embassy?

I'm trying to see if I could get an early interview too (because I'm 7 months pregnant) & honestly I'm so confused on how to do it
