i have been off from this topic for a while because i am trying to apply i130 for my parents.

today i sent the form already.

anyway.

can someone tell me do i need to update the SSN?

why i need it and what is happen if i dont do it?

i ask my husband if he did it or not. he dont even know it.

Hi Bettenan,

I have a question with regards to the signatures on Certificate of Naturalization. We were not provided any instructions orally about the signatures and apparently there seems to be some confusion about it. On the certificate, they have printed my usual signature (like on driver's license) next to my photograph (on the left side) which is a kind of illegible scrawl using my initials. The instructions at the back of the certificate states that I would have to sign my full name both on the line as well on the photograph on the right side.

I am confused, should I have to use my usual signature that appears on the certificate right now or use the full name on the photograph as well on the line in the certificate? Further, which signature would I have to use for my passport application?

Any information will be well appreciated.

They were very clear that the signature on your Certificate is how you should sign it. Richard's signature is a scrawl. So ii was no issue with matching, but I did pay attention and they did say when doing their "house keeping" to make sure all signatures on the certificate matched. I hope this helps.

Today, I just got an email notification saying that, my oath ceremony is in the queue.

Will they mail me a physical letter saying, my oath ceremony is in the queue?

or, will they just mail me the actual oath ceremony appointment letter?

I called their 1-800 number about 2 weeks ago and they said my case was approved, thank God, a few days after the interview and waiting for oath. Then i called to check up a few days later and the lady said only the adjudicating officer has approved it so far, but not yet approved by supervisor. I called for a third time (to get a final opinion ) and the guy said there's no way to say whether or not a supervisor approved it, but it's approved...

So i scheduled an infopass last week and, to my surprise, the IO at the infopass window was the same lady who did my interview. She told me that they need to do a few internal things before scheduling oath, and confirmed that my application is approved. I asked when does she think I can have the oath she said next month.

So I'm waiting! And the best remedy for waiting is keeping myself busy I really hope I can do the oath soon because i have travel plans later next month or early June. Maybe in a couple of weeks or so I'll make another infopass, but i really hope I get the oath letter (or atleast get the "oath scheduled" status) by then, God Willing.
