Really confused about the lockbox vs service centers

Hi all, I have another question for you all. I am trying to figure out which service center (Vermont, California, Nebraska, or Texas) I will be sending my I-130 to. USCIS says to send it to the Chicago Dropbox....but does it go to one of those places from there? There is no Chicago (or illinois) service center so how do I figure out proceessing times or where it goes from there?Really confused! It seems like Vermont is taking a long time so if I could avoid sending my things there that would be nice. Thanks in advance!

12/30/2012 Got married!

02/01/2013 Sent I-130 via Priority Mail USPS

02/05/2013 NOA1 Priority Date

04/09/2013 Called USCIS-informed by Tier 2 officer that my case was transferred to Washington D.C. on March 13

09/05/2013 NOA2

09/27/2013 NVC received case

Submitted DS-261

Paid AOS bill

10/16/2013 Paid IV bill

10/19/2013 Submitted DS-260
10/21/2013 Mailed AOS and IV packages overnight

11/15/2013 IV package accepted/Checklist for AOS

11/26/2013 New AOS documents received at NVC

12/19/2013 Case Complete

12/27/2013-Received Interview letter

01/26/2014-Husband's Medical Exam

02/13/2014-Interview- Approved, but the consular officer did not see I-864 joint sponsor documents, and sent my husband home with the packet of all the original documents, and told him to mail it in when he gets it. My husband realized that the "missing" documents had been there all along. Husband immediately mailed it back.

02/26/2014-Consular office received "missing" documents and gave it to CO for review

03/17/2014-Visa Issued!

03/20/2014- Received Visa

03/21/2014- POE!

Send to Chicago lockbox if that's the destinatioN your state is allocated to. Will get forwarded to NBC in Missouri right now. Then maybe forwarded to a field office based on your us address given

you send it to the address thats on the form, from there it gets sorted to different centers,mostly east coast is EAC and the west coast is WAC, but they all all back loged so many other local centers are helping out with the files so your file can end up at any center.

Interesting...

I'm in Virginia so I just did some research on it and my state usually sends it to Vermont. Are they sending them to Missouri because they are backlogged? I'm curious if sending it to Missouri or a field office will be faster in the end for me. After reading some of the forum topics I'm really feeling bad for all who are stuck waiting on Vermont longer than usual.

You send it to the Chicago lock box ONLY. From there it is forwarded to the proper service center, you do not have a say in which one it is sent to.

You send it to a lockbox... The lockbox forwards it on to the service center. The service center, upon approva,l sends it to the NVC. The NVC sends all the information, upon approval, to the embassy/consulate in your beneficiary's country (so in your case, Israel.)

The USCIS service centers adjudicate petitions. However, you don't have a say in which one you get.

You send your package to an intake facility, aka lockbox. For i-130s there are two in the US - Chicago and Phoenix. If you live in Virginia, you send it to Chicago. From there it is forwarded to the appropriate service center. You will be notified of which one in your NOA1.
