Hi everyone,

I have a question about the biometrics process for removing conditions of residency.

I had my appointment recently after filing my I-751 a while back.

Trouble is, one of my fingertips is messed up by persistent eczema, and the fingerprint machine could not match it. The other nine all seemed to match okay. Is this likely to cause me to have to go back for another biometrics appointment, or should the fact that it's only one finger mean that I am alright? The technician seemed to think it would be fine because my other fingers were readable, but I am not sure.

Thanks in advance.

They might have you come back, I am assuming you did not have this problem before. Because if it is the same so be it and they should be able to figure it out. The FBI can manually read your print cards, printed from the electronic machine if needed. Just in case go see a dermatologist and try and get it cleared up.

In Arizona its hot hot hot.

Thanks for the response, bigdog.

My hands happened to be in decent shape the first time I went for biometrics (2 years ago), but this time not so good.

I have been to many doctors over many years about the condition, and I have creams and the like, but the eczema (very frustratingly) comes and goes as it pleases, even if I take great care.

I am a little worried as I have a trip to see my family in England arranged over Christmas and New Year and don't want to miss any potential 2nd biometrics visit when out of the country. If I don't hear before I go I will have to have a friend check my mail and let me know so that I can request another date if it comes to it.
