Hello members from VisaJourney :)

So I've been doing some snooping around and decided I should probably introduce myself as it seems I will be visiting these forums a lot for some help, and hopefully to show some support too!

My name is Allan, and I was born in Lima, Peru. I have lived in the US since I was four years old (29 now), and have had my citenzship since I was like 10 (I probably need to check my certificate). I go back to Peru a lot because most of my mom's family is still there and because I just simply enjoy going.

Anywho.. this summer I travelled to Peru with my entire family to get to know places outside of Lima. One of my best friends here in the US (who is also Peruvian) had asked me to bring back some dresses for a dance performance. So, I asked her to have someone do the work of finding the dresses and then I would just pick them up from her friend while I was in Lima. That is how I met Lorena and her son Adrián. Long story short, we are now at the point where we want to find out what we need to do to spend the rest of our lives together :)

Aside from the journey that we will have to go through for her son to have permission to travel with her, I realize that gaining permission from the US Embassy for us to be together here will also be long and emotional. I think it's awesome that I was able to find a community of people that can help and support each other through this type of process!

So.. so far our plan is this: We're not officially engaged yet, but it will happen very soon (if she says yes):D We want to get married in Peru because it's easier for my family to travel there, as opposed to her family travelling to the US. I figured we could do the K1, do the legal marriage here and then plan the big family-religious-wedding over there after saving up. However, even though it seems this will make us have to wait longer for us to be physically together, we are leaning for skipping the K1, planning a nice wedding and getting married in Peru, and then starting from there. I figure asking for guidance on the specifics of what we want to do should be posted somewhere else in the forum.. just wanted to give a little detail on why I'm here :)

So hello again.. I'm looking forward to being a participant of this community! :D
