Exactly 3 months after filing my i130 petition at USCIS London, I have recieved a letter from them asking both of us to come for an "Interview on your I-130 visa petition". I am asked to goto www.USCIS.gov to make an appointment with infopass. Now the confusions:

They have asked me to make appoint STRICTLY on 22nd November. But the infopass system is not giving the option to schedule an appointment on 22nd Nov. How to get round this problem?

I didn't know that they actually call for an interview regarding I-130 petitiona as well. What's the purpose of this interivew? And are they still gona call my hubby for a visa interview subject to I-130 approval?

I'll appreciate a quick reply.

Yes it is strange. Never heard of it. I am not sure what is it for.

The letter says:

You and your spouse must come to this office in connection with an official matter

Office Location: Immigrant & Non Immigrant Visas Waiting Room

To make an appointment: Go to www.uscis.gov and blah blah.... using infopass. Ensure you make it for Wednesday, Nov 22, 2006

Reason for Appointment: Interview on your I-130 visa petition

Bring with you: Bring you passport and any evidence that you and your spouse have a bona find relationship. Such evidence may consist of, but not is not limited to, bank letters, mortgages, bank statements, leases, rent receipts, insurance policies and tax returns etc.

Try to email the london embassy telling them that you cannot schedule an infopass for a specific date and ask them what you should do.

hi birdy, what a surprise, huh?

#1, remember that you are dealing with USCIS at this point. This is one of the rare times when the distinction between "Direct consular filing" and "filing at an overseas CIS office" makes a difference.

By the way, I have no idea if/how to schedule a local appointment via InfoPass. That's a new one on me. Try later in the evening; that's one that works in the US. Otherwise, call London CIS to make your appointment for that specific day they want.

Interviews for the USC's I-130 are unusual, but not rare or unheard of. Shon was interviewed here in the US before her I-130 was approved. The other thing you and she have in common is your husbands' country of origin. She had also been married multiple times and had sponsored other foreign spouses.

I hope you'll let us know that it all turned out OK!
