What website do you use for the cheapest airfares?

I found a fare for about 1/2 of what all the other sites have listed, but I'm weary of it...my "too good to be true" alarm is flashing. asaptickets.com - anyone ever heard of it or used it?

i suggest hotwire, onetravel or yahoo travel. also, if you leave near a filipino market check if they have some filipino news paper. usually they have special deal. goodluck!!!

**i bet that website won't give u the time and date before u book the flight that's why its cheap.

My first trip to the Philippines earlier this year, I used Priceline. Had no problems, and got a roundtrip from Boston to Manila for $1200. Not bad ~

I have another trip to Philippines scheduled for next month. I originally booked the trip with Priceline (4 months in advance of the trip). The next day I noticed that I entered the date wrong, and purchased tickets for 2013 instead of 2012. I called them up, and they refused to fix it for me. After about an hour of trying to get it corrected, the end result was cancelling the ticket and getting charged a $200 cancellation fee. With that said, I won't be using them again.

I then tried purchasing tickets from Cheapoair. Found a price for $1100 round trip. Booked it, then received an email saying the flight wasn't available and the next best price they could give me was $600 more. I told them forget it, no thanks. A week later I noticed the same flight is still listed on their website for $1100. That's false advertisement, in my opinion. So I won't be using them, either.

I ended up booking straight on Delta's website for $1300.

My advice, search websites like Kayak, Priceline, Cheapoair, Expedia, etc., for the best fares, then try to find that same flight directly on the airline's website.

I have used asaptickets three times on round trip tickets to the philippines. You have to call the toll free number and give them the code that was generated when you inquired about your flight and then they will give you the price and your proposed travel information over the phone before you purchase. They will also send you an email confirming that the itenerary that you chose will suit your needs before you purchase. Never has the listed price on the website been the actual price that I paid for tickets, they usually are a few hundred dollars more but even then it was cheaper than I could get them anywhere else. I would book them again as the service that I received at the airports and on flights were acceptable. You will get no choice in seating when booking and will have to ask for special seating arrangements at the airlines when you get to the airport.

ASAPtickets.com is a legit site, but they never provide the price the website generates as their agents must do a manual search themselves for a trip itinerary. Their agents that I have dealt with in the past are friendly and courteous. If I remember correctly their call center is located somewhere in Eastern Europe (though the business is registered in San Francisco, CA) so you may have to deal with a bit of an accent. If you give them flexibility in your travel dates you have a better chance of getting a price closer to the website offer but I have never had them match it. They will also follow up with better deals (if they find them) if you decline the price and tell them you are looking at other options.

Traveling to the Philippines at this time of year is the most expensive time to travel as everyone is going home for the holidays. February and March are the cheapest times of the year since it is off season for many of the resort areas and holiday travel is finished. Around this time you will likely be paying about $1400 at a minimum round trip compared to $900-$1000 during the slower months.

I'm planning Feb, the issue is I want to fly to Tuguegarao, which all of the websites I've checked don't list...so far the only way I've seen to do it is to book it directly with PAL, which is listed at $1340.

You may be best off just booking your flight into Manila and then getting a separate flight to Tuguegarao. You can usually find promo fares with Cebu Pacific or Zest Air for less than P1,000 (including taxes and fees) for a one way ticket out of Manila. Even if you don't get a promo fare a full fare flight to Tuguegarao shouldn't run you more than P2,000.

I used asaptickets.com when I went in Jan-feb 2010 and had no issues. The prices on the site are before taxes and such, but they were the cheapest I found when I was going on my trip that time.
