gotta go with the relative credibility in this circumstance, but don't worry, some photos of the kid as a 13 year old "model teen" will soon surface...

What's credible about this? What does his background have to do with what he was doing on THAT day he was killed? What were these kids doing? They were in their car listening to music, that's all. Mr. Dunn didn't have to talk to them, he could have waited in his car for his fiancee without incident. But I guess when you have a gun on you, the outcome is more likely to go your way than not. These kids were not doing anything wrong. The police still haven't found the shotgun, and he was firing his weapon when they were tyring to flee, how scared would you have to be to lodge 8 shots in a vehicle that was fleeing?

I'm not sure what point you're trying to make with your oh so subtle racism here. Care to explain?

He's a racist. Nothing "credible" about it.

For anyone with half a brain he was obviously referring to the photo chopped pics of Trayvon Martin...the same photo chopped pics that the media decided to use while breaking all the rules of journalism ethics.

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."

He was referring to Trayvon Martin when he called the kids in THIS STORY thugs without anything backing that "opinion" up? Weird.

Kind of silly to compare the two cases when the circumstances are clearly very different, no?

This might surprise some of you, but some black teenagers are just teenagers. Not thugs. Making those assumptions with no facts are, like I said, racist.

Would the same comment have been made if the teenagers in the car had been white? If you say yes, you're fooling yourself. Though it wouldn't be the first time, would it?

relative credibility? #######.

how many murders and murder suicides and crazy rampages do we read in the news everyday and one of the first comments that will usually erupt is, i never expected so and so to brutally murder so and so or i never would have thought such a sweet person was capable mass homicide etc etc. people in the country flip their sh*t - they snap. just because this guy doesn't have any sort of record doesn't mean that he has more credibility in this situation.

you can't call kids thugs because they're black and listening to music in an suv. while this may be your opinion of what a thug is, that's only your racism showing...quite clearly.

racism aside, we really do need to look at FBI uniform crime statistics to gain some insight into the scope of the problem, and the statistical likelihood of "credibility".

The issue here is you are trying to side with the shooter. You are trying to find some type of validation in his defense. There is none, and here is why:

No matter what angle you spin it, no matter how you tell the story, there are some things you can't change. The shooter was wrong the split second he started arguing with them. They didn't have to turn the music down because they were in their personal vehicle in a public place. He is a grown man, roll the window up, wait for your girlfriend, and then rant and rave while you are driving away. Since they still can't find a weapon, what could these kids have said that made this man fire 8 rounds into a car full of teenagers?

Instead of trying to find the wrong in the kids, look at the adult who should have known better.

No we don't. Look at the facts of this case. Ignore skin color, ignore age. Stop desperately searching for a reason why the murderer is justified in this case. It has nothing to do with "uniform chrime statistics" or the "scope of the problem" or "statistical likelihood" ... make your opinion based on the facts that have been presented. Your racism is clouding your judgment.

"reasonable fear of heinous crimes against the body" is what the statute says...

look at the demographic. mid 40's guy with no criminal record and concealed carry liscense, vs group of thugs...apply reasoned thinking.

I find nothing well-reasoned in the kind of 'thinking' that reflexively labels several teenaged black youths as 'thugs' without more justification than that they were playing their music loudly!!
