Wouldn't want to have a riot on their hands, with 5-6 million Muslims living there... what a surprise.

Wow I didn't know they had so many.

I looked it up and it's 4,704,000 Muslims in France.

That's 7.5% of the total population.

0.3% of the World's population of Muslim.

Some other's estimate France's Muslim populations is 8%-10%.

I also found the 9 No votes against recognizing Palestine as a State.

The United States and Israel voted against recognition, joined by Canada, the Czech Republic, Marshall Islands, Micronesia, Nauru, Palau and Panama. Link

I'm still waiting to see the 41 Abstain votes that decided they don't have a bone in this to pick, and I'm also interested to see the 138 in favor votes.

Canada has 940,000 Muslims.

That's 2.8% of their total population.

0.1% of the world's population.

And others estimate Canada's Muslim population as 1.9%.

I think it helps that they are also geographically connected to the United States.

With the U.N. vote, East Jerusalem is now internationally recognized as the capital of Palestine. There are only 9 countries of the world that don't recognize that - the vast majority do. In contrast, no country in the world recognizes Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, except Israel.

I say good for the Palestinians. But now follow this step up along the way to full Nationhood status by working to improve the lives of Palestinians.
