And some people are getting married when they already have green card for 3 years and until pd moving month to month they becoming USC.so

What I was trying to say is that very few people would be waiting for 5 years, since if they know they're getting married, they would do so before they get their green card.

Yes, the 3 year thing happens. I'm in that boat But if the PD moves one month at a time, then at least it's predictable how long the wait is. When it bounces back and forth, I think that's painful as people get their hopes up and it gets dashed, or they find it hard to plan etc...
