I have my interview in London on Wednesday next week and I'm a little nervous about how specific I have to be with my answers, particularly with the dates that me and my fiance visited each other. I'm struggling to remember all the dates and I don't want to hesitate on the answers.

When they ask me when we visited each other, can I just answer with "August 2010 for 1 month" or do I have to say "August 28th 2010 until September 29th 2010"?

I read through a lot of interview examples that others posted and I'm confident that I can answer all of the questions regarding me and my fiances relationship but I'm not very good at remembering specific dates, especially since there's a lot of dates for me to remember.

Should I revise the dates or is it nothing to worry about?

Thanks :)

I remember a guy on here who reported about his interview in London.

Q: How many times have you visited her in the US?

A: Ummm....I dunno...lots.

He was approved. That should relax you a bit.

Answer as completely as you can, if your sketchy on dates do some review prior to the interview and take your complete file with you for a reference if you need to. If you are the real deal it should be no problem.

In Arizona its hot hot hot.

lol That's reassuring to hear!

Eh They asked me when and I was rough, asked me to name people in a photo. Actually, hop on the embassy reviews. I listed everything they asked me on there

I can easily answer questions like "who's that in the photo". It's just the dates.

I have originals and copies of both of our itineraries and boarding passes. Would that be the best time to present them to the interviewer?

My fiancé was asked a similar question and he just gave the "August 2012 for 1 month" type of answer. For most (not all) going through London, the interview is more of a chat with someone than it is an inquisition. (cue Monty Python...) Be confident and sure of your responses. Per your other question, you likely will not need to show itineraries, but it doesn't hurt to have them on hand as a just in case. My fiancé wasn't asked to show any ongoing relationship evidence. As photomile noted, be sure to read up on the recent K-1 reviews out of London.

Good luck!

That's good to know. I keep hearing people say that the interview was really relaxed but I guess until I'm there I'll be imagining a big spotlight on me and a couple of intimidating FBI-style agents scrutinising everything I say!

I've read a lot of interview reports and will continue to do so until the big day. The more I read, the more confident I feel :)

have a rough idea of how many times you have visited one another and when.

the question they asked me were no different to the ones a friend that hasn't seen you for a while would ask about the relationship.

The embassy in London is very peculiar and does things a lot different than most (if not all) embassies good.gif

Is that a good thing or a bad thing? lol

I have it down to the months and the time spent visiting. Just not the actual days. I'll present copies of the itineraries and boarding passes if needs be. From all of these responses on this thread I feel a lot more confident :)

I booked the day off work Tuesday so I can get everything prepared and travel to London the night before. I'll check in then take a walk from the hotel to the embassy building so I know where to go on Wednesday. Nearly there :)

Just got back from the embassy this morning. The word interview is totally misleading. From reading other posts, I had what could be considered a grilling due to the fact I met my other half 13 years ago, so I had to explain the gap and what happened in between. Even that though was fairly informal. At no time was I asked for specific dates.

Q. When did you first meet?

A. 13 years ago whilst she was over here studying.

Q How long ago did you first get back in touch via Facebook?

A. Honestly I'm not sure, I'm guessing about 5 years ago.

I walked out of there with a visa approval stamp etched in my memory, so long as its not a complete sham, I seriously don't think there is anything to worry about. I actually found the whole process up at the embassy quite smooth and straightforward. The medical was a billion times worse, but then that's probably down to my white coat syndrome LOL

Hey thanks for your input. I had my interview on Wednesday and I'm glad to say that my visa has been approved! :D

The interviewer did ask the usual questions and I had answered with months rather than specific dates. He was fine with it all. I'll write up a report on my interview soon :)

Thanks for the help everyone! :D
