It's been 7 months since my sister applied for citizenship, she received the yellow letter that states the things she needs to bring for the interview a month ago but until now there's no schedule. Every time we call to see what's going on, all they could tell us was the processing times of new orleans which we can look it up online.

Is there anybody else who experienced or currently experiencing this long process to citizenship?

Interesting. The processing time for New Orleans shows up as 5 months and is inline with the national average.

I would give it one or two more weeks and then call again and insist to talk to a 2nd-level agent. They usually have more info.

Thank you all for your replies. Yes we have been calling them. What's the difference of a 2nd level agent?

A 2nd-level (or 2nd-tier) agent has usually more knowledge and access to information on your case compared to the first line of agents who answer your call.

As Grashoppr pointed out, the trackers for New Orleans show about 2 to 3 months between fingerprinting and interview. So call them and ask.

Finally got an answer from uscis but not a good one. They said to wait for 14 more days for the interview letter. If she doesn't receive the interview letter yet then she has to write a letter of request (?). But for now uscis can't even put in a service request or make an infopass! They said to search for the phone # for new orleans field office.

It is frustrating and scary because I'm thinking of filing mine at the end of next month. But what if the same thing will happen to me?! I need to hurry up and upgrade my f2a-ir1.

I think there is a possibility to schedule an infopass for general inquiry. If you do not get the letter in two weeks I would try again.

We already decided to write a letter to new orleans field office. We are not waiting for 2 more weeks because it's already out of processing time. Uscis said that they can't schedule an infopass at this point. They are pretty much useless now.

Thanks for your reply. Will update this case, it might help somebody too. Thanks! :)
