I'm an American. My fiancee is a German, living in Germany. In order to start the K-1 process, I understand that we both need to submit signed G-325A's. [i've found posts that state otherwise, but it's clearly stated in the helpful K-1 guide on this site, at http://www.visajourney.com/content/k1guide/.]

Since my finacee is in Germany, is it okay for her to print, sign, scan and email me her completed G-325A form, since I'll be filing it in California? Meaning, is it okay to submit a non-original version of this doc with my I-129F? Or does she have to mail me the original copy for me to submit?

Thanks for your guidance, veterans! I really appreciate all the helpful information contained in this website (which I just found today).

I'm not sure but most K1 petitioners submitted the form with original signature. The G-325A and the Intent to Marry letter need an original signature from the both of you. Just saying. :)

No, it's not ok.

The original signature must be on the form.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

The G-325A and letter of intent both need original signatures. She also needs to provide you with a passport photo, so just have her mail you all 3 at once to include with your I-129F petition.

I agree with the others. The G-325A must have an original signature, just as the letter of intent from your fiancée. You may want to ask your fiancée to send the documents via DHL Express - it is a bit costly, but it only takes two days from Germany to the U.S.

Best of luck!

Yes, it's not a good idea. If you submit a scanned document, then you will get a RFE asking for original documents with original signatures so to speak. So basically, you need to have your fiancee in Germany mail the g325a filled out and signed and dated along with the letter also signed. Scanned and then printed even in color gets you a RFE and everything will go slower.

I had to mail from Colombia those documents to my wife (back then my fiancee). Also take advantage of that and if she has boarding passes (copies are ok), pictures, proofs of an ongoing relationship, have her mail them to you too as that's part of the i129f package. I mailed some pictures and boarding passes (copies) and entry stamps as I had that and not my wife.

Try to avoid RFE's, have her mail that through fedex or certified mail (that you can track), to make her cheap to her you can pay when it comes (that's what we did, it was like 25 dollars instead of 60 which was what I had to pay in Colombia. From Germany will be more but it's worth it, no RFE, and you will be with your love in no time. :)

Fortunately, I didn't see that one. Honesty is always the best policy!
