No neither the PCC from police nor the Passport office contain the dates and address but for the police to issue you a PCC they will need clearance from all the police station under whose jurisdiction you have stayed.

Passport clearance is the same process as request comes to your local police station from passport office for clearance.

I am not sure why they have 2 process when they do exactly the same thing.

All your pcc will have is there is no adverse records against you and you are free to travel out of US.

Can anybody let me know what does the Police clearance certificate from local passport contains. Does it mentions the address and period of stay...

Its contains Name, Passport Number, Issue Date/Place and that there is no adverse information exist and you are free to travel. no address and stay dates.

US Consulate only requires PCC from Passport office and a PCC stamp in Passport. There is no requirement for PCC from local police station for Indians.
