any idea what are the consequences of beneficiary amending her passport while k1 is pending ?

the amendment is about birth date. it has to be corrected since the origial birth certificate has the correct date (difference is few days only).

i am thankful i found this site. it is very helpful

If there's an error on your passport, get it corrected as soon as possible, especially if it's a matter of days.

I looked at your Timeline and I can see you are expecting NOA2. What birth date did you put in the G-325A? The one on your birth certificate or the one on you passport?

At the interview stage, take the new passport and explain, Make sure you write the correct birth date everywhere (the one on your BC).

the lawyer is working to correct the mistake. unfortunately, on the forms i used the date on my fiance passport. do u think i made the wrong choice ? I wasnt aware of this issue.

i will certainly make sure every thing is explained during the interview and hopefully the amended passport gets issued by that time. can this delay the visa ?

thank you!

blush.gif I really can't say if this will or will not be a major issue. Hopefully, it won't.

I hope you can get it all sorted out.

Common sense tells me it might, at least, delay the process. If you think about it, when they go do a background check, they won't have the correct birth date; thus they'll have to do everything all over again. Especially being from a MENA country.
