I don't know what pasalubong is - After a quick google search it seems like it might be a souvenir?

Generally, souvenirs are perfectly fine to bring in the hand carry, as long as they are not sharp or incapacitating items, and as long as they are not liquids. If they are, pack them in the check in luggage.

If you are bringing food, be aware that certain foods are not allowed into the US, and that some may require inspection by CBP. This is especially true for certain plants, vegetables and meats. If you are unsure whether they are allowed in or not, the CBP will make that decision. Remember to declare all food items on the blue customs form you get on the plane. That way, even if the food you are bringing cannot enter the US, you won't be in any trouble.

Commercial packaged and sealed dried mangoes should be fine. Bread - Don't know. Don't worry about it though, as long as you declare them on your blue customs form you won't get in any trouble either way. Worst thing that can happen is they confiscate your bread, throw it in a dumpster and and welcome you to America.

I know, but I gave you a worst case scenario. And I don't know much about what the CBP considers "not fit for import." All I know is that if you declare it, you won't be in trouble.

I brought dried mango back with me (and I can buy dried mango from Cebu here), it was packaged so customs had no issue with it. Fresh fruit and vegetables is not allowed.

I brought Goldilocks pastries & packed them in my check in luggage. I had to bring hubby's favorite , the special mamon. Had no problems at all.. Go ahead bring all the goodies you can.good.gif

We brought assorted pastries (mamon, ensaymada, polvoron) from Goldilocks. No problems at U.S. Customs.

OTOH, dried mango is a different story. You must declare this. I made the mistake of assumption. I thought that since it was dehydrated, packaged and sealed fruit...it was okay. Apparently, I was absolutely wrong. Customs officer was alittle PO'd with me not declaring it.

Please do not make the same mistake I made. :D
