PLEASE HELP! I have my interview scheduled for Dec 14th in Vancouver. I received my NOA2 way back in August, but because I was concerned about not being able to visit the US in between, I scheduled my interview for Dec 14th. I was just getting my stuff together for the interview and realized that the NOA2 has an expiration of November 25th, 2012! What does that mean? What should I do now? I am so confused! :( PLEASE HELP ME!

Since an interview has not yet taken place, the Consulate has the ability to re-validate the petition on their own with no action needed on your part. This is very common and routine, you need not worry about this.

Thanks, I really appreciate your quick responses! I am having panic attacks worrying that I will have to re-start the whole process. I emailed the Vancouver Consulate just now and hopefully will hear back from them tomorrow. I understand that I have to bring a hardcopy of my NOA2 to my visa interview. Will it be a big issue that it has an already passed end validation date? Will I be getting a new NOA2 with an extended date?

I hope everything will be OK. I know with the Consulate here in Australia I was required to get my Fiance to write them an email requesting that the petition be extended for another 4 months, he also had to state that he still intends to marry me within 90 days of my arrival. My NOA2 expires on the 2nd of December and my interview is on the 18th. I was hoping it would be automatically extended when they issued my Interview date, as I have heard some other consulates do, but at the bottom of my Pkt4 it directed me to write the letter.... frustrating thing is they say, if you're application for an extension is approved you will not hear from us, however if not they will be in touch, so I just have to wait with fingers crossed. I hope the Canadian Consulate will do the automatic extension for you, Good luck!!!!

You need not to worry, as we basically did the samething..our NOA2 was ending in September, and we just got our visa... the consulate can revalidate the NOA2 without your permission up to 6 months

Since your case is clearly progressing (as you are at the interview stage) they will revalidate. It's not a problem and happens to many people; when I was doing the K-1 my NOA2 was on the cusp, simply because they were slower in dealing with the case.

There's that smell again...

Thank-you for all of your support! I heard back from the Vancouver consulate today with the following response: "This office will revalidate/extend your expired petition on the day of the interview."

A BIG RELIEF! I can breathe again!

Fantastic news!!! Gosh I hope the Australian Consulate will extend ours too.
