Hello guys,

My wife is US Citizen. she became US Citizen this year in April. She filed for her parents and brother who are residing in India. Her parents have immigrant visa. Her sister had sponsored them in 2009. They have been to USA once. Their I-130 has been approved, and I got DS-2302 letter and to pay $88 for AOS IV Fee. I paid online, and status says Paid. I also completed I-864 form. What do I do next? Can her parents show their daughter as their agent? her mother is coming to USA in March, 2013. Can my wife filed DS-230 form and submit it from here, or her parents has to mail from India? Do they have to send all documents in original copies or can be copies of originals? can someone please send me step by step on what to do after case has been approved. her mother has received Case number, but waiting for her father's case number. his case has been approved.

Your wife can be the agent.

The DS-230 can be mailed from either India or the US. It doesn't matter where the mail comes from.

The DS-230 requires originals and one set of photocopies of all the originals. Since an original is required, her parents MUST sign and send in the original DS-230s.

thanks for reply... can my wife send the DS3032 form to NVC, or her parents has to send it from India? can we email the form> Because I have been reading on here, and some people are saying that they emailed the form to NVC. if she can email, what email address does she has to send it to ?

do you have step by step instructions on what steps to follow?

you said her parents have IMMIGRANT visas cos your sister-in-law had sponsored them in 2009? I am assuming you wanted to type NON-IMMIGRANT visas because if they alreayd have immigrant visas then why are they being sponsored again? or did they abandon their green cards then?

anyway. after approval, their files arrive NVC, you have to keep calling NVC for the fathers case number and then:

She should appoint herself as their coice of agent by filling out the form Ds 3032( choice of agent form) and scanning to NVC. In few days NVC shd acknowledge receipte and accept this form.

they will then create and IV and AOS bill for them, issue IIN # for each. with these numbers, you make payments for IV and AOS into the payment portal. once the status indicates 'PAID', you mail NVC two packets for each applicants containing all the needed documents; intheir original and photocopies. with teh NVC cover sheet printed from the payment portal. make sure it is sddressed to the right office.

NVC will then review and close the case and issue interview date as per consular availability.

click on 'guides' at the top of this site for detailed steps. best of luck
