just an FYI so that if others are doing DCF in Honduras...

We turned in the i-130 on Oct. 25. We were told to wait 1-2 months for them to call us with the approval.

We were apparently approved on Nov. 5

We called the embassy on Nov 27 to find out the status, which they gave us. Told over the phone to call visa section for an interview.

The lady from the DHS office said we should be expecting something in the mail (in Honduras!!??) regarding the approval and interview- this is contrary to what they told us at the window when we turned int he i-130 and what the embassy website says.

Be aware of possible conflicting info from the embassy and the need to track things down via phone/email.

yes, definitely stay on top of them! Their main priority is not getting your visa to you... :(

my husband never received any mail (not DCF though), I emailed the embassy for the interview/invitation letter required for entry to the embassy. other than that, make sure you have everything they might possibly ask for the day of the interview (the interview letter should detail what you have or are missing).
