Hey Everyone!

Just wanted to get some opinions on whether the processing estimates that VJ comes up with for approval of EAD are accurate. When i filed my EAD (along with AP and AOS) VJ gave me an estimation of approval at approx 2 months, with a date between Nov 25th and 27th, i.e. right now! but i know that the general rule for EAD's is 3 months, according to the USCIS website. But i assume VJ must be estimating based on some data that other members input, otherwise why would it tell us at all when we should expect responses.

So has anyone found the estimation to be spot on, or am i looking at another month still before approval?

Initially i was surprised but pleased that VJ thought i was due approval in just two months, it gave me hope that i could start looking for work before Christmas, but with everyday that goes by i'll start to think i'll be waiting the full 3 months, and before i know it the new year will be upon us.

So, anyway, just wanted to get some opinions...

Hope everyone had a good thanksgiving!!

Jon

Views processing estimates are not to be taken seriously, EVER , in any case. The amount of people who fill their timelines and keep up with it are low, it doesn't keep out of control things under consideration like an officer taking time off or the electricity getting cut or someone having to leave early and all that, BUT generally EAD and APs arrive before the biometrics appointment.

Hey thanks!

I guess i'll stop expecting it any day then. But i had my biometrics exactly a month from getting my AOS NOA, which'll now probably be 2 months before EAD approval and i was of the opinion this order of things was normal.

Not true. You need to have the biometrics taken in order to receive your EAD. EAD and AP, when filed at the same time, are a combo-card.

The biometrics appointment is usually scheduled about a month after the NOA, while the EAD and AP takes at least 2 months after the NOA.

OP, it usually gives a pretty good idea. It usually arrives a little before, right on, or a little after the estimates. The VJ estimates are an average based on other members. Just be patient, don't rely too much on the VJ estimates as if it was going to be true for sure, it should come soon.

But still, the USCIS processing goal is 3 months.
