Late for the biometrics

I wasn't able to make it to my biometrics in time and showed up a day later. The supervisor let me in and my fingerprints and photos were taken, bio invitation stamped, and I was let go. However, I still haven't been put in line for the interview though it's been 11 days since then.

Do you think it could be the reason?

I would think not. You should look at other posters timelines in your area and see how fast they have been put in line for interview scheduling. I am pretty sure I waited at least a month.

It's impossible to tell based on others' timelines, there is no such option for being put in line. I can only see their biometrics and their interview dates.

No need to worry. In my case, I was put inline for interview 6 weeks after the biometrics. Of course every case is different but just 11 days after biometrics is pretty short for most cases.

You should be fine. I read about applicants 1 or 2 days late for biometrics and it was not an issue.

In fact, this does not look bad. The processing time really depends also on the workload of your local USCIS office. The national average for N-400 processing is 5 months. You can check your local USCIS processing time here: https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/processTimesDisplayInit.do

In general, for a straight-forward case at an USCIS office with normal load:

1 month for fingerprinting

2-3 months for interview

1 month for oath

which adds up to a total of 4 to 5 months.

I understand that. My question was regarding being in line for the interview, not the interview itself. I'd feel better knowing that my fingerprints went through and I am not missing on anything else they might want me to do...

Congrats on the baby, how exciting!

I think late biometrics are pretty common. Today when I was getting my biometrics done, they tried to take one woman's biometrics and she had acrylic nails, which were showing up on the prints and not accepted. She was told to reschedule and it seemed from what the IO was saying to her it seemed that it's not uncommon to do biometrics late.
